The definitive Pedal Box Thread

They refused to pay for my pedal box because the car hasn't got fsh. bummer. £170 -
Crickhowell near abergavenny That makes me feel a bit better. Hopefully the new sensor should get it thru the mot. :-)

Fellas... My 1.4 16v w reg loop has failed the mot on emissions.. my mechanic "friend" says it's likley to be the lambda sensor. The car had a new front exhaust/cat last year so he's narrowed it down to th lambda - at £100 ish. Is this a normal fault?? All advice mucho appreciated !

Just installed a nice alpine head unit... sounds great..but what's next? I don't wanna chop the car up so what speakers can i easily install that'll make a big difference but will require no fuss for the install?
-
Thanks peeps! I know what to do now! :-)

Club Lupo-sters, Why is it that it always becomes a total pain in the ass when i try to install a new head - all goes well until it comes to getting the bloody thing to slot back in all the way. It's nearly impossible to tuck all the leads aside to get it in. Is there something i'm missing here??? There's gotta be a knack to it???!!! Please help!!

Okay - spoke to the mechanic guy who gave me good and bad news - good - the steering issue was due to a nut missing which (he claims) could have caused me to loose the steering at any time - he's fixed that. bad news - the cat section of the exhauset has a hole in the flexable bit but he reckons it all comes as one piece - £150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
It's kind of northerly i guess! i'm "from" ebbw vale originally so i suppose i count as "south" ;-) i can't make the meet cos i'll be under the frickin car!!! :-)

hello there! I'm from crickhowell. Lupo is a kind of dark met green. 1.4s cracking little car but 70k on the clock has obviously taken it's toll on the car - i really thought it'd fly thru the mot!

My 2000 1.4 16v lupo failed the mot yesterday on: front disks and pads (they looked fine to me but are apparently badly pitted) - still not the end of the world. centre section of the exhaust blowing and needs replacing. but strangest of all is a fail on "play in the steering" - i haven't got a clue what could cause this or be the cure. Can anybody give me some advice on the steering issue? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />

the bit mentioned about it feeling more free-reving sounds good - i guess the car breathes a bit better. so i guess (i know i sound like a bit of a flid asking all these dumb questions) that a performance exhaust system would also make the loop a bit more responsive?? does that mean i'd have to buy a complete exhaust system?

Okay - monday bought the vw cambelt kit got a local vw fanatic garage to fit it. Saved a good bit compared to bollox dealer prices! today - did oil change, oil filter change, remote temp sensor change myself. Am feeling pretty pleased with myself so far! next comes modding. i'm thinking "induction kit"????, maybe posh exhaust. then alloys and lowering. what induction kit do you fine fellows recommend?
