  1. I can't be bothered being civilised anymore - Editted. Several points have been raised in your most recent posts. I'll deal with them quickly: 1/ Where is the Club Lupo disclaimer that this is not a site for chavs or a site for cruising (not the correct spelling, Editted 2/ At which point did I say I owned the forums or determined what you knob-cheeses could talk about? Conversely, If it is me who claims to own the forum, why is it that Adam K has the right to declare that this is , I quote "not a forum for "croozers."" 3/ Where have I come from? To politely answer your question, I registered on here years ago as a Lupo owner. I do not drive a Lupo anymore though. I know a few people on here too. 4/ Adam K, I strongly believe that you are a hyprocritical little ****-blanket. How can you criticise one's antics on an empty car-park when it is you (an ex police officer and supposed "pillar of the community" as my source informs me) that I believe to have posted videos of yourself racing shitty little saxos? p.s. nfbr - go back to your kebab shop in Oldham. You are pathetic. Posting once only to re-post a further attempt to bait me a full 19 minutes later having stewed on it. Well, I have taken the bait my friend. Have I made your life exciting? Well, it's better than ****ing, isn't it?! I will leave you all again to type your replies as fast as your little fingers may let you. Bye bye babies xxx Blast from the past Tigz! You still got the 1 litre wonder mate! Editted the post to remove the over the top insults. Left the remainder as you made some points I agree with. I think the thread has run its course now so I'll close the thread. Why these type of threads always end up in arguements I'll never know lol. But yup, still have the 1.0 style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Tigz.
  2. My point is, apart from himself or the car, nothing else could be damaged in the vast open space of a carpark. I do not advocate silly behaviour in the potentially lethal weapon that is a car. However, it honestly seems like people on here are very quick to moralise, eager to play the trump card of sense and sensibility. Yet I am sure it's these very same people that try and race the local Saxo squad at any given opportunity. Car enthusiasts come in all variants, people. Some like to mod, some like to track their cars, some shine and show them off... we are all different. This lad came on eager, literally saying he had had a mess around to test the handling of his new car and you pounced. if that's what "floats his boat," so be it. if you don't like it, don't read it or don't waste your time typing about it! On that note, I am off to do something of more value. Thread closed.
  3. "Stop smoking crack?!" Isn't that just a silly, pathetic little retort, simply implying your own uselessness in arguments? The lad said he was honing his driving skills on what we presume is an empty park. I don't see any potential victims in this act do you? I suppose your "ultra efficient" Laguna FMIC is not intended to improve your performance but to improve your intake temperatures whilst sticking to the speed limit at a tolerable 30 miles an hour?! P.s. Do you know of a company called Forge?! Bell-end.
  4. Bit of keyboard warrior aren't we, Adam! It's very easy to be cynical behind one's computer screen. Go back to chatting sh*t on seatcupra.net in your little "girly-car" polo - sorry, I meant Ibiza! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  5. Lovely car you have there Elliott, especially as you are a new, young driver. I had to mess about in a Ford Ka for 12 months before I could insure something like that. Give it 12 months and you'll be in a Leon Cupra R, remapped and pulling away from the local chavved up Subarus! You still won't be able to beat me though, whichever car I am in! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  6. Next time it's a nice day and we are out and about, I'll let you have a play in it. No worries. Now that's what friends are for. Aren't I nice?!
  7. I like the Evos. Definitely on my list of cars to look at. However, they are mega bucks to run and you see quite a lot of them around. That aside, they have a certain image. My Dad calls them drug-dealers' cars. I like the LCR and Loop GTI because you don't see many of them.
  8. Nah I didn't beat you. Please don't say that. I am not a bully, honest. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I blasted past you (you probably asleep in Lupo land) and then let you catch up. Subsequently, you caught up and blasted past me, terrified of going over 100 and getting anymore speeding points hehehehe. I think performance wise the two cars are in different leagues so it's not even worth comparing them. I just know that if I had a few extra thousand lying about I would love a Lupo GTI - proper little go kart. Tom's is ace - especially with the mods. With regards to big engines in small cars - I reckon that Venom Lupo shreds. I drove a 350bhp Audi A3 last week and that was manic; definitely the fastest thing I have ever driven. I keep thinking about buying another S3 and getting it IHId to 400bhp. I prefer the looks of the Leon by far (and performance) but I just wouldn't trust that much power through two wheels. I keep thinking; wait and get something evil like an Evo, M3, 911 or get something low key (e.g. the S3) and get mad power in it... Hum... Time will tell. Anyways, going off topic musing here. Yeah Tom, organise a meet so I can drool over some Lupos. In fact... Did any of you ever swap coats for a day when you were at school??? Can we swap LCR for Loop GTI for a day hehehe. Tom, have you driven my LCR or was it the S3? I can't remember.
  9. I think I am misunderstood (or perhaps I am misreading you). In saying you were pulling, I meant that once I hit around the ton mark and stayed there momentarilly, you were pulling more distance on me... In other words, you were doing more than I was i.e. well over a ton. Naughty boy. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Yeah 280 through the front wheels is fine and manageable. There's a guy on SCN who has just had a remap to 360 in his Leon - nutter. Jabbasport told me it is scary quick. Mine is rapid, but just a handful in the wet - but hey, if you guys have slips and slides with 125bhp, imagine double that in a car... JBS in chesterfield have a 400bhp+ FWD car (Skoda Octavia I think!) If I hadn't just had the remap and shelled out 500quid for it, I think I'd be investing in that Venom IHI Lupo though. Mmmmm. I'll stick with mine for now though. Just waiting to hit 25 mark and get some more NCBs and then some proper big boys toys. I think a Loop meet would be great. Can I come in my car though? remember Tom, you were on our seatcupra.net stand!!!!
  10. Aye - really nice car mate. Love em. One of my top ten cars, most definitely! Before seeing you, I had just come from humbling two chavs in a new Scooby up in Ashton (think it was a prodrive 300?). It was neck and neck down a stretch of road (me pulling a few inches as we reached silly speeds) so I bet he was upset for not shaking off a crappy Leon. I'm not going to lie and say I killed him, but I can just imagine the conversation in the car "eeyar mate, watch me knob this... hang on it's still with us." We all know Subarus are the fastest cars in the world now don't we... I suppose you are right. I did start it... Blasted it down that slip road and hit the dreaded one ton banning speed pretty quickly. I was remapped and rolling roaded at Jabbsport down in Peterborough last week and although it was a cold day (hence slightly higher figures) I RRd at 280bhp and 292lb/ft. I am loving the remap, but so much power through the two front wheels is a pain from a standing start in this cold and wet weather. Once rolling it is really shifting - just can't wait til we get good weather and the roads are dry.
  11. Hi Tom, How goes it? I'd imagine the driver is on here. Speed demon. The Lupo tops out at 126mph (book figures) but he must have been close to reaching that. I let him blast past and after accelerating to 110 and holding the needle, he was still pulling.
  12. Hi, Spotted you earlier this evening (close to midnight) coming from Droylsden way and pulling onto the M60 northbound. I was in the black Leon Cupra R with the plate similar to yours (number of the beast) - nice plate by the way! Presume you are an enthusiast with a plate like that! I waited for you to come off the slip road having blasted past you and you got past me just before the junction... I don't play racing games at over 100mph, sorry! I have had it close to 150 and it's a scary thing I can tell you. Well, you were clocking up some speed in that little thing - great. So, why am I on here? I used to have a Lupo myself (bet you wondered why I beeped!) and moved on to an Audi S3 and now the LCR. I love the Loop GTI though. Great cars. I fancy putting a 225 engine in one... Hum... Anyway, love the car! David.
  13. I was in the dolphin grey S3. I pulled in front and gave a wave.
  14. You have to be careful with them R32s. Our friends were woken by shouting "stay where you are, nobody move" at 4am by 3 blokes with crowbars and balaclavas. The alarms were going off and all the neighbours were out, but they got the keys and went. the car has not been seen since.
  15. My bird has a C2 VTR. It's a nice car and I like it (apart from when it broke down, I had to push it up a hill and we then had to wait hours in the cold to be recovered!) It is nippy, and good for her, as she isn't arsed about performance etc. It's just a nice little girl's car. If you want to talk speed, it is not half as quick as my old car - the "revvy" Lupo sport 16V. My main issue with it is the paddle gear changes. It is a waste of time completely, a mere gadget. You change gear, have a cup of tea and then accelerate again. I would imagine that if the VTS has the same system (??) that is rubbish too. To summarise, get a Lupo GTI or the sport at least (not a massive difference anyway!). Nuff said.
  16. As a few of you know, I have crossed over to your German brother's (Audi) side. I was on the `Audi-sport` forum and I saw this Lupo (scroll to the bottom of the page!) Is this anybody's on here? It looks sweet as that. http://www.`audi-sport`.net/ubbthr...sb=5&o=&fpart=1
  17. I had the Sport and it is a nippy little thing right up until past 60 and then, of course, it starts to slow down. The torque isn't too impressive, nothing a gear `change-down` wouldn't solve but you have to think about petrol. The TDI has more torque and without looking at figures I'd imagine it's a lot more economical also. However, I'd say get the Sport for the sheer fun factor, as someone said, for the bends and that centre exhaust.
  18. The insurance on the S3 is about 1600 a year if I remember correctly. Not bad considering it's over 20Ks worth of kit and I was paying that kinda premium last year on the Lupo Sport. My mate has a Cupra, they are nice. Quick too.
  19. The Lupo GTI is a lovely car though, such presence. I'd get one tomorrow if I had the spare dollarinies. Adam, how old are you? You said you could get a Scooby!? I do know what you mean about looks and exclusitivity as well as performance. I've got a 225 Audi S3 at the moment, and it has all that too. You don't see that many about. I just find insurance the `ball-ache` on a lot of these cars though. I am only 21, but next year, I fancy investing in an STI Scooby, an Evo or an M3... something a little quicker. I just know I won't get a quote anywhere. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  20. "My car is the fastest in the world!" I haven't come on here to cause trouble but... Bah... Ok, the Loop GTI is quick, but it I've heard it can beat all sorts of things on here. What was it last month? A Clio 172/182? It was a certain few types of beemers before that. Maybe the people at the side of you in that "traffic light burnout" aren't trying!? I would not expect the Lupo to kill a Mini Cooper S. They are quick. Having said that, I used to have the 100BHP Lupo 16V Sport and I had a race with some boy racer in his ST170 (i've said this story before haven't I!?) He cut me up badly, I prayed for the next set of lights to go on red... They did! I thought 'you better floor it'. He did. The look on his face when he looked up in his mirror and saw I was still behind him at 70 in a 30 zone was a classic. Yes he was trying, and yes so was I. So, ST170 yes, Cooper S... I think not. Get a Clio 182. Ok, it's French, naff inside but for performance to pounds ratio, you can't beat it. There's my two penneth. David
  21. Matt, Aint been on here recently... I thought you had an Elise? I've got a 225 S3, a top car that I can recommend. I'll be selling mine next year if you wanna wait hehe.
  22. Bumped into this: http://cars.msn.co.uk/CarNews/Top10Xenonoct2004/
  23. What's the Astra GTE like? I had a run in with one of them in the S3 last night, and although I killed it by several car lengths on the `take-off`, and the same on straight run and roundabout (gripped like an armwrestler), the Astra put up a good fight and was one of the most surprisingly quick cars I've seen on the road. I've seen supposedly "faster" cars trying and be slower. My mate says the GSIs are fast, but not really the GTE, and I am sure it said GTE. It was pretty rapid, so it could have been tampered with. All that said, what an enjoyable race.
  24. I'd agree. Went in a GTI and didn't feel that much quicker than my old Lupo 16v. It's lighter than the Polo and has the center exhaust. get some deep dish alloys and you'll look the Daddy.
