  1. i am really not sure............whats your email address i will send you a picture? its weird as it only has 2 wires
  2. are we talking about the same part? this wire was 6 inches long, flat, with a yellow plug on one end and goes into the rotating part just behind the steering wheel
  3. Hi guys, ok i have an airbag light on which is caused by the ribbon that attaches to the slip ring around the steering column as it has broken. Has anyone got way of fixing it or is it a new very expensive slip ring??
  4. bump................ has anyone got anyidea how the 2 different plugs are configured
  5. morning all.......... does anyone have a copy of the wireing diagram for the winmdows?i need the old and the new to compare as i bought a swich which has a different plug on it and for the life of me i cannt work out which wires correspond............any ideas???
  6. hi guys. ok u donnt know 100 percent how the airbag wires work. At the top of the wheel on the column side there is a black plug with a rubber cover, the ribbon is attached and it then goes into 2 wires.....it seems free to move around the wheel ring. now my issue is that when it moves around the wheel as it is turned it actually hits the indicator stalk and wiper stalk thus turning them on. now should this component be fixed? if so where or is it meant to do what its doin?? cheers chaps
  7. ok............just so everyone knows ....it is easier to drop the subframe and disconnect the suspension leg on the drivers side! if i had done that first up i recon its a 3 hr job!
  8. so .......i have removed the bols and i cannt see how there is enough room to get it off the spline as you cannt move the rack down cos the subframe is there............ drop subframe maybe?
  9. Hi guys, i am halfway through removing a power rack to replace it but i cannt get it out! has anyone actually done one and knows how you get it out? the issue seems to be where the rack goes into the car and the UJ. i have no idea how to get the power rack part off the steering colum part.....there just donnt seem to be enough room to manouver it off the spline......does one have to remove the steering column???? any help?
  10. cheers for that! my confidence is running hi........... i know MG's inside out but these are a learning curve! nice little cars...daughter got one and i decided to buy a couple to sell on. This was a right touch if the rack works out that i can do it on me own!
  11. yeah thats what i was concerned about , the fact that i will be on me back........would be easy on a ramp i dare say its easy
  12. ok. my main worry was i will be doing this on axle stands laying on the ground. I assume the bolts can be accesses from above and the rest of the work underneath. That sound about right??
  13. my main concern is how best to access it ? from top or bottom............any pitfalls
  14. cheers boys and girls.... done most things on cars but never a rack! it just looks very tight down ther to move stuff.........
  15. Mornin.......... after much deliberation i have decided that my steering issues are indeed the rack. Has anyone changed one? how long should it take?any tips?............or is it a garage job and if so any idea on times again........ thanks guys.
