  1. Hi all, I bought a set of lowering springs off a friend, and i have come to the conclusion i want to go lower! so coilies it is, There in good condition, passed MOTs etc, just the surface paint is starting to fall off, Im based near Lincoln, or you can arrange a courier Im looking for around £30 for the set, send me a PM if interested : ) Cheers!
  2. haha, noo, when you spray it the vapor comes in through the vents, gave me a horrible headache
  3. well it was auto glym paint renovator, and i polished it with auto glym ultra deep shine which has waxes in : )
  4. spot on guys, all sorted, started just after first post, and just finished, poured hot water over them, then used string to prise them off along with an old credit card, then picked most of the sticky black gunk off, then used a dab of petrol to take the rest off, finally dab of t-cut to remove the dirt and then polished it, looks spot on, just need to wait a few washes so the dirt fading wears away!
  5. This i know is a fairly simple task, but i want to correct way to do it! Cheers
  6. the tanks have anti-siphon so they wont pour out for long, but abit will pour out, the most will come out of the filter haha
  7. Also, Mike, which flip key did you convert to? VW or Seat one? there pretty much the same i believe? and did you just swap the insides?
  8. yeah thats the fuel filter, and it looks like its been on there years haha, grab one from Unipart or somewhere, around £8, make sure you put the new one on the right way, it shows you an arrow of flow, just yank the pipes off, a little big of fuel will pour out, and you will get covered so be warned! haha
  9. I used the VAG screenwash but the smell gave me headache, so i started using the halfords ready mixed pink stuff, i red the ready mixed stuff is better? Im presuming now the blockage and i superglued the pupes together haha it wont happen again? hopefully!
  10. cheers for that guys : ) any chance you could link me to the how to? can't find it haha
  11. yeah defiantly a hole in the fuel line, or loss of compression in the pump, thats the problem with diesel, its pretty much like coke, fizzes like mad haha
  12. Blitzerman, i did some testing for Shell a few months back, and the figures show that supermarket fuel hardly managed to hit 95 octane, tesco being the worse, with recorded levels at 90 octane, making your car run like a pig, that also means that 10% of what your burning will turn into engine clogging loverly black stuff, carbon, lowering your fuel economy, Even so, 7p a litre over a full tank is about £4, i fill with premium stuff, and it costs me an extra £5, and for the proved benefits, and the prevention of serious damage, that extra £5 a week is well worth it. I've seen loads of people have problems with there cars, and it all goes down to they fill up at tesco or asda. Dosent mean you have to fill up with premium stuff, Shell Fuelsave, there standard unleaded has recorded levels of octane from 95-97, and with its heightened cleaning agents and fuel saving properties, its worth a try, and when i live, its normally 1p cheaper than tesco and asda! Not only will you loose mpg with super market fuel, the difference you pay for branded fuel, you will save in mpg ; ) Hope that helps : )
  13. my friend has 12k hids, and he p*sses me off as they blind me as i drive past, currently i've got some philips xenon look untra blue, there by far better than halfords untra brilliance, and better than the osram ones, but when he takes his car for an mot he just changes the blubs and leaves the balist boxes in Also i have led sidelights, but they just make my headlights look yellow, but at night they match with the philips blubs now
  14. Hi guys, I've managed to snap my number plate surround clip while washing the car, so now im numberplateless for the weekend! Does anyone have any spare they wish to sell me, im wanting to pick up asap! Pref the ones from dubmeister which have the bottom clips once the plate is in Cheers
  15. redex works as it says it does, Also shell fuelsave is extreamly good, personally i use total excellium 97, which has cleaning addatives in, but you want to definatly drop a bottle of redex in the tank once a year or so, and it is true, supermarkets get the dregs of the huge raw unleaded tanks that come from the east, supermarket fuel is cheap for a reason!
  16. Anyone here done a flip key conversion? Im looking to swap my remote arosa key to a vw flip key, seems fairly possible
  17. Hi all, Managed to come across a very strange problem, after buying my arosa, the rear sprayer was abit poor, sometimes sprayed foamy screen wash, sometimes looked like clear water and didn't clean well, After hoovering my car, i noticed the rear left side carpet was soaked, which explained why it stank of screenwash the whole time! After ripping out the seats, pulling up the carpet, all the trip and following the wiring back with the screenwash pipe, found that the connector had come away from the second bit of hose! So when i was spraying the back window, it was infact soaking my back seats and carpet! Sorted now, vaxed the seats and my rear sprayer works fine, what a ball ache of a job it was! How the pipes came apart is another mystery Anyone wanting any help with ripping up carpet or a simala problem give me a shout : )
  18. yeah i noticed the oat stuff in halfords meets the vw standards, but what i red ANYTHING you mix with g12 causes problems, so for the sake of spending just under £30 in halfords on the oat coolant, i took it to vw to do a full vacuum flush and fill, £47 and they were was kind to valet the arosa!
  19. Cheers for that man, i got a pair of philips xenon ultra blue ones today which are miles brighter than the philips ultra vision! Im going to do more research into the HID bulbs, but i red somewhere they are legal if you have them correctly aligned or something, But in the new bmws, they all have pure white lights, so how are they legal? they must be hids, I do alot of night driving so seeing where your going is obviously of huge importance! haha
  20. JJ i'd drop a bottle of redex in your tank, when your low, under a quarter, drop a whole bottle in to clean your injectors and whole system, also where you filling up? im sure your aware of the general rule of stay away from supermarket crap?
  21. for towing, for a 1.4l lupo its 800Kg braked, 450kg unbraked, i wouldn't of thought a 1L you tow well, but if its just a bike im presume it will suffice, i;d say about 250-300kg towing weight for the 1l, also lowering and putting a tow bar would clash! the trailer will be on the piss!
  22. Hi all, Im after some pure white looking headlights, that are very bright on the road, im tried all the halfords premium ultra brilliance and philips x-treme vision and they are all yellow looking and are yellow on the road. If you see the new bmws, they all have pure white headlights and light up the road well, Please recomend me some which i can pick up tomorrow! (Running out of £40 a pop for 'the best headlight you can buy' crap)
  23. 100 miles to 1/4 tank is pretty good mate, that would work out roughly to be 60mpg! but obviously each quarter is uneven, im currently getting 55mpg from my 1L arosa mk2 : )
  24. i had my Polo's windscreen changed yesterday, you need a stupidly long Stanley knife and boiling water, cut out most of the surrounding sealant then pour boiling water down the sides to make the sealant soft then from the inside, start gently hitting the screen until it moves, this is how the AA geez did it haha
  25. Then hold the trip mile calculator reset button turn the key to first position so all lights on dash turn on, DONT START THE CAR, and hold for 12 seconds then hold off and start the car, Bazinga. IF it doesn't work, repeat, but hold for 12 long seconds
