  1. Removed rub strips today, all good apart from last strip. (back passenger side) turns out my car had been resprayed down there and well... its a hack job Drivers side looks good though Cam-belt time..
  2. i removed my strips today, took about hour and half. wasent bad, but on the passinger side on the back strip i noticed some repair work to paint, and after it was removed there was a horrible outline from it! it was a terrible spray job! the paints cracked and been lacquered over! ah well, im not to bothered there are a few rubbish paint repairs across the car but that's the worse. Any way, there's little lines from where the glue was stuck. i guess these will fade and go under polishing and waxing.... i hope :L. there not to obvious to be fair, the the repair on the passinger side is but oh well
  3. thats gutting, what colour is yours? i cant see that my doors have been touched up but my bonnet has patches where you can see its been repainted so when i remove mine i hope i dont get any problems either. mine are colour matched to the car, but there are a few chips in it and the paints flaking on corners and they look a bit tried and worn out
  4. anyone willing to sell me a center vent blade? im just missing the one blade and it bug's the hell outta me! strange request & im certain noone would have any lying about BUT worth a try
  5. did you just pull off? or heat them and use fishing line/dental floss to separate them? im nervous about doing it, don't wanna uncover some dodgy spray marks or something. but would be so much better when i man up, grab and beer and get to removing them
  6. hey, i'm thinking about removing my bump strips tomorrow, im going to heat it up (hair dryer) and use dental floss to separate it from my car. this is going to leave alot of that adhesive stuff on the side of my car. using bug and tar spray took a long time to get rid of this when i de badged my car so has anyone tried wd40? its usually pretty good at removing sticky residue just wondering if anyone's used it on there's and if it worked? cheers
  7. De badged & treated myself to a VW cd player Booked in for a cam-belt change in a few weeks.
  8. booked in for the 26th. £250 parts an labour for cam belt, all tensioners and water pump without water pump it would a been £125. may as well get it done while the belts off
  9. is the sticker (Circled below)? if so then that has some German words and a date from april 1999, so either it hasn't been done or they haven't marked it.. hm and as you own a SDI What is this red cable? & where did it go?
  10. that's what I was thinking, one of my friends ran his megane up to 90k without changing belt (dad previous owner) and obviously when he got the car he had it changed asap, so i doubt its too bad at 67, the car is almost 12 aswell so i might get it done just to be safe. would be soo gutted to start it one morning and BANG, ****s hit the fan. where on the cambelt cover would it be?
  11. :/ i know, before i owned mine someone had completely cut out the foam, and now the door pin just sits in the door gap and rattles as it holds it in place. just thought he might have removed it so it was either salvageable for me to stick onto mine
  12. has any one had there cambelt changed on the SDI? ive done 67000+ miles on what i think was the original belt. its not been marked in the service book but there are a few stamps with nothing ticked so i don't know? but at what kinda mileage should i see about getting it done? and how much as a guide should it cost?
  13. Do you still have the foams that were stuck on with this stuff? im looking for one for my upper passenger panel
  14. Where are these to be collected from? & are they still for sale?
  15. can anyone tell me how to remove the cup-holders and little slot from underneath the radio? not the ones mounted under the din slots but the one IN the din slot? I plan on removing them for the VW CD player, but I don't wanna break them or my dash! cheers
  16. Fixed it, didn't take out seat, just plastic cover. some little latch (looked unrelated) was bent to buggery and all chewed up. thought I may as well bend it back and just bent it back with pliers. hey presto! seat works again HA don't have a clue how it got so bent you can see it here, it was all twisted and distorted, i bent it back a bit more than that and its fine now
  17. I put the seat up on my car after letting a friend out and when I went to put it back down the seat back clicked into position but the seat wont stay down! usually if I don't press it hard enough the seat will spring back up but you can hear the latch to hold it down but I don't hear that now. obviously if I sit in the seat the car is drivable, but still! has this happened to anyone before? Ima take a look tomorrow afternoon and see if I can see what's wrong
  18. yeah i noticed ah well, they look frikken sweet! you gonna get some seat center caps?
  19. how much were the starlight's from dealer?
  20. After trying and failing to fit an after-market head unit I put my beta unit back in, only problem is that now the radio does not turn on when I start the car and it does not turn off when I remove the key? ive checked the cables and they all seem to be in correct Also I plan on removing my cup holder and coin tray and putting in the Single Slot CD player, are there any how too's on removing that? cheers
  21. Anyone on here any good with knowledge on the BETA cassette player? & are there any threads on tips for DE badging? not the rear VW badge but the SDI badge
