    K&N MK2 - K&N

I can scan the instructions, if you want them? Like Chris says, its pretty simple (or should I say, it "looked" pretty simple whilst I was standing there monitoring Chris's installation style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />) As for petrol Consumption, I'm not sure what going on with it to be honest. I've done 100 miles and got 5/8 of a tank left, which means I should be well on for about 230miles to the tank - which I what I normally get.... AND I've blatted it a bit more than usual (well, cant get enough of the noise at 6000rpm!). Strange, but great!
  2. 14hours! Wait....pubs only open for 12 hours don't they? Or was it an extended license pub?
  3. I fixed the Xenons, thankfully - it just seemed to fix itself... As for the Rattle, never had it, and I've not heard of anyone else getting it? And K&N - it only takes 15 mins to fit/remove, so I just take it off when it needs to go in to VW.... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  4. I was looking at getting some "quality" tyres for mine too, i.e. Eagle F1's or something similar.... But I'd hate to think how much they'd be.... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Must buy new alloys instead style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> And one final thing, is the `never-ending` thread or something? This the 61st reply!
  5. I saw that too....as you say, no Lupo tyres there.... Talking of EVO - they've ended the LupoGTI long term test. However, they havent done an "End of Term" report on it....all they have is a little update. `Chee-Chui` Lee has replaced his "much loved" Lupo with a Toyota Celica `T-Sport`. He also says : [i:post_uid0]"The little VW may have a light appetite for fuel, brakes and such, but it has one rather expensive taste - I was quoted over £260 for a set of front boots. Its a good job my time with the Lupo is at an end, saving me a packet by not having to replace them! Phew!"[/i:post_uid0] Now, I'm not sure if they will do they End of Term test next month, which they may do. If not, I feel I may have to make a comment. Other than that, £260! for front tyres!!!! I think I'm going to have to start going easy on the accelerator!!!!
  6. Many Arosa owners have fitted 16's with 195/45/16 tyres without too many problems, and they have the same arches. Tha arches on the GTI are the same SIZE but are DEEPER and the GTi has a wider track, so the GTi can use 215 width tyres. Heh, I saw some 215/35/16 tyres the other day - rubber bands or what!
  7. Did I? Heh style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> must have been one of my "better" days then when I posted that style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I've never been one for this "wheel weight is very important" - yes, I'm all for functionality over asthetics, but I'm not really prepared to buy alloys I don't really like because they are slightly lighter ??? IMO, at least. The Americans are mad for it, but its never really been an issue in the UK. If I had to chose between the two, it would have to be EVO's for me....

    Ha! Your 265bhp 1.8Turbo, with its Porsche stopping power, and 4WD won't stand a CHANCE against my FWD, 125bhp 1.6 with the power of a K&N Induction kit! Oh, and my standard brakes style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Bring it on ! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Yep, done the stereo, like you say, had to move the HU to the bottom, as it seemed like the changer was too deep to fit. Took us a while to sort all the cabling out, so many cables, too little room! But we got there in the end! And its all working superbly! Currently enjoying the K&N very much style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Its a good balance because on the motorway, or cruising its silent, but when you start to belt around town, it sounds bloody great, and above 5k its absolutely manic! I think that loss in petrol consumption is more to do with the fact that you just cant help but hit the redline all the time.....well, I know I cant now..... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Cheers in helping fit it aswell !
  10. My Xenons are broken style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Took my sister to pick up her Pug, pulled onto the carpark. Parked up. Dropped her off. Starts car, its pretty dark, so I put the sidelights on, but turned the knob too far, so I put my Xenons on instead. Whoops, I thought, turn em off. *click* .... hmm.....they're still on. *click* ..... `uh-oh`..... *click* *CLICK*. Lights are still on. And now they wont turn off. I can turn the sidelights off, but not the Xenons. Luckily, they turn off with the ignition, but when I'm driving tomorrow, I'll have to drive in the daytime with them on, and look like a tit. ??? Oh well.....I also notice my VIN Plate is missing from under the windscreen....now that DOESN'T look good either....
