  1. That's a big shame. The standards are really high now. I did think that they were expanding to allow more clubs in but I guess there's bigger demand.
  2. Yes please do! Am going to try & get into Ultimate Dubs! :-)
  3. Finally yes! ;-) The build started late jan & I had hoped to do a few shows this year but it'll be worth it! :-) Just heard I got a wildcard entry for the EMMA European soundoff finals in Salzburg in March next year! ;-)
  4. Thank you! :-) The fella who has been doing the work is the head judge of the sound off organisation that the car competes in. Clever chap! As for sounds - I got it back for a bit later in the build & really liked it but by all accounts it's performance has really shot up a lot more since its all been fully tuned & adjusted. It's due back soon! Can't wait! I really hope to do some shows next year so you'd be very welcome for a demo. :-)
  5. The dash has been getting a bit of attention too. The centre console now has been trimmed with contrasting Alcantera. The iPad covers the air con & vent controls & is taken in/out by a side slot. It was to try & give it a cleaner look. You can see the button to the right which is on a spring action so that the recess button on the iPad can be adjusted. Coming along! :-)
  6. It ain't gonna be ear splittingly loud just crystal clear & accurate but you'd be welcome of a demo! :-) Cheers Carl! :-)
  7. Still improving things - finally it WILL be ready for next season! Rear sub box has had lambswool liner to minimise backwaves/ less resonance. Very snug! Next stainless T bolts fitted to fully secure & mount subs Love the way they look with the bolts too! These rear subs integrate with the front sub - rear set to play lower frequencies than front.
  8. Did you enjoy Edition? I think the audiophiles will hopefully help to get some of the lower tones - thats the plan. There are other more in your face subs but hopefully they will do the trick! :-) As for finishing? Let's hope this year? :-)
  9. Another new feature are the A pillars. Instead of the plastic strip new moulds have been made in fibreglass then covered in Alcantera. You can see the new dash colour- not finished yet as the front midrange pods will be body colour, centre dash section & centre console will be alcantera & leather. As all the front end speakers are up on top of the dash all of the sound is too. The soundstage fills the whole windscreen & with the specific speaker placements the sound appears to come from outside the boundaries of the car. Width wise it's out at the tips of the door mirrors , depth wise beyond the windscreen & over the bonnet in some cases. That's what I love, sound that defies the size of the car!
  10. Thanks Ryan. Can't wait till its all in place. Loving your new wheels - really suits!
  11. Hey Karl, Last time I spoke to Dave we were talking about the Genesis Audiophiles. I will post a few more pics up as apart from rear subs there is sound. Gotta say even though it's had minimal tuning time the sound quality is better than anything I've had before. Well pleased & still some improvements to be made. Hows things with you? ;-)
  12. The sub in the dash is very good but the rear 10's are just a little treat. I love my dance/electronic etc so it should help give a little kick. It is a sound quality system so rather than out and out SPL it will hopefully get some lower sub bass frequencies. Glad you like! :-)
  13. You'd be very welcome to come over for a look & demo when it's done. Was hoping to catch the last couple of shows for this year but there is still a fair few bits to do. It's going back up to Manchester for the last bit of work but il keep you posted! :-)
  14. Rest of boot build; Amp Rack Bottom section This is the section under One Dual Mono sub to power front sub & a dummy amp cut into two just for effect! Cut In a Genesis shape Next layer- processor, distribution, fuses, earthpoint and rear subs amp!! Oh and then the battery below that! Neat! The front end speaker system is the fed by two Genesis 4 channels which are housed in the custom rear 3/4's panels. The panels have been made to match the curves of the rest of the build.
  15. Thanks Hugh! Much appreciated! Lupo gathering momentum now. Got some more progress to post in a mo! :-)
  16. Phew! It's been a while! ;-) Had some good progress on my loop! Finishing on the sub box Blended in to the back of the Mk2 TT seats. And the side panels Bit of primer And then ....... Booom!! Really pleased with the finish on the rear sub box! :-)
  17. Thanks Huw! Really can't wait till its finished! I think you are with the south Wales lot so be good to hook up with you guys as I'm only down in Somerset & work in Bristol.
  18. Cheers Carl! It's called being greedy!! Having my cake & eating it!! How's everything going with you & your loop?
  19. Cheers Piers! You would be very welcome to have a listen. Best thing is to bring music you know for a demo - more than welcome! We are aiming at Trax in early September for the last of the year EMMA competition. If its ready then hopefully the later vw shows will be a goer! :-)
  20. Cheers Pete, I can't wait till its finished too! It will have some really individual features. It is being built for sound offs but I think it should stand out with all the custom touches. You'd be very welcome to have a listen when it's done!
  21. Well, next installment and quite an exciting one! Even though my build is for sound quality, as I like electronic/dance we decided to give the rear build a bit of a kick. Obviously the rear is a bit tight on space & it was decided to fit two 10 inch subs, a processor & amp. The next pics show the sub box. Not finished yet as they will be double skinned. It's made of birch ply as its stronger & lighter than mdf. Now the clever bit is that it hinges to reveal the amp below And even cleverer - another level to house the processor & fuses All this will also be motorised for easier access. :-)
  22. Thanks Ryan! Good to catch up with you at the weekend! ;-)
  23. Ha Rich! It will give amazing levels of sound quality but it won't give you bleeding ears syndrome!! The car will be set up so you can hear breaths when singing, resonance in piano, plucking of guitar strings, etc There will be a clear soundstage so you can place instruments & singers and all instruments will sound 'real ' but it won't blow your spleen out of the car! Be glad to demo when it's done! ;-)
  24. Thankyou my man! Yes I hope so too. Aim to do some later shows this year - players & the October Santa pod. How's things with you? ;-)
