  1. Hi all... Just resprayed a smooth rear bumper, took all the usual steps, paint, clear coat and then p1500 wet sand, followed by compound and a good polish.. however the paintwork on the bumper is super smooth, and the rest of the car has the factory orange peel type effect to the clear coat... This got me thinking wether to wet sand the complete car, compound and polish up... Has anyone else done this? My friend has a professional mop, but it tends to leave swirls in the paintwork, so i would prefer to do it myself by hand
  2. But surely you do realise their not as low as they can go before they start a stroke... they have more travel than they need to have! Plus theres the fact of bumpstops you can trim etc... Ive had plenty of cars in the years to realise that running low doesnt effect the performance, unless you bottom out on the stops... but theres a level of practicallity and looks... however were talking about removing the cups, so none of the above really means much...
  3. On standard shocks yea.. however you'd be a tool to drop a car over 35mm without uprating the shocks to shorter ones...
  4. Oh read it wrong lol... could always port and polish yours (if its not plastic).. done that on my last c20xe, and also knife edged the throttle plate... big notice in revvy power
  5. Might be interested in these when i sell my 14" bandeds... Do these hold air, run straight etc? Also were these fitted to a lupo? If so any clearance issues? Looking for some smaller bandeds than the ones i have
  6. +1 on running no cups.. have done on the last 6 lupo's.. also driven a few like a c*ck with no issues... The only way they would come out as stated several times is to fully drop the rear bar, meaning either jacking up fully (which when having no cups you would check the springs line up when putting back on the floor)... or... getting air over a bridge.. however i believe that you would need to be getting off the floor by a metre or so, so would f*ck any suspension! Also none of my cars handle like shopping trollys, so i suggest trying to deck your own lupo... handles like a go cart! Also have experince with c20xe nova and a corsa on coilovers, just to add... no cups were used on a rear, and both cars were run on tracks and 0-60 runs etc. Finally... also know a lad running on chopped rear springs without cups... no problems... not my cup of tea as its too low, but hes after the look... Chops are legal aslong as they are held in on mot time, so aslong as your springs stay in without the cups you will be fine.
  7. Ah give me a shout,, need to glass up some rear pods as mines van'ed out
  8. My mates doing it to a 1.4 Seicento.. really pointless and not worth the cash. As an idea, hes had to buy the bodies (from a motorbike) for about £120ish.. Then have an adapter made to bolt his bodies to the block £260 and also to mount his 4 standard injectors in.. He then has to buy the trumpets which are another £100ish for the 4. The car then requires a self adjusting fuel pump (taken of an R1 motor bike).. On top of this, his emerald ECU and loom.. which from memory was around £400ish.. plus then theres the mapping costs and all the effort.. I wouldnt bother if it was me, told him several times.. and ive done plenty of conversions in the past
  9. Ive tried in the past and failed... ended up using that 'fly eye' stuff, which looked alright.. Also tried tinting the lens externally which looked great until i used the indicators, then it looked blotchy
  10. Looks mint... I used to do real carbon all the time, building audio pods, dash parts, badges etc... but it takes wayyy too long to smooth and get perfect.. I used to hate the 3m stuff, but ended up buying some the other day to have a go with... Did you find you had to heat it up to get it to stick? (not had a go with mine yet)
  11. P*ss easy... i ran 0awg in my old walled lupo. Dead easy to do!
  12. looking for a pair of rear doorcards, any condition colour etc aslong as they still clip on
  13. Can courier these in the uk, had quotes for £35-40 for the service.. Also open to swaps / px / offers
  14. Can also courier these wheels as they are packed ready to go, had quotes from £30-40 recorded UK
  15. Lol Nuneaton, near coventry, just off the m6. Cv11 is the start of the postcode which will show you where i am on google maps, theaa.com and most satnavs
  16. CV11 (nuneaton) but the outskirts of coventry, just off m6
  17. These wheels are strange, and im in two minds wether to keep them or not as i dont think ive seen a lupo wearing them... I was going to strip the tyres off, flash red the centres and colour the dish white, then fit some 165/50/15s.... However thats effort so they are up for sale first.. If they dont sell il paint them and keep.. Oz Volcanoes es 15" X 7", ET37 (cant find any other sets anywhere for sale) 2" Deep dish lip (measured) 3 very good 205/50/R15's and one not so great, however they are a bit big on a lupo.. i have fitted and they do clear all arches, but look a bit big. Really not sure what their worth as i cant see any others for sale so starting a guide at £300 ono (however really open to offers)...
  18. CV11, slight poke but tyre tread will be under the arch if a good stretch. Click on the pic to get a larger view

Theres these on wheel whores, not sure if their expensive or not as their not my thing. Could also try pistonheads as ive seen a few creep up on there in the classifieds http://www.wheel-whores.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4696&title=le-castelletes&cat=4
  20. You are looking at my genuine Superlites in 13x7JJ fitment et-9 with 175/50/13 tyres. These were removed from my lupo as the car is going back to standard. They are 4 x 100 fitment and will bolt onto any VW for that low pokey euro look... I dont have any pics of when the car was lower, but it looked mint!! There are a few pics about of when i had the white ones on as i was going to sell these and keep the whites, however i sold that set, and now my dailys are for sale. All tyres are legal, two nearly new! Wheels in good condition although could do with a repolish around the edges where water has got under the clear coat (only in places) however that does not detract from the looks when they are on the car, therefore they can just be bolted on as they are now. I polished up my white set myself with a drill kit.. Took me under an hour each wheel to get looking they way they did! Rare to get these in this size to fit VW's, Will fit other dubs, vauxhalls, mazdas, rovers etc. £320ono.. or px for something wheel wise for my partners lupo...(located cv11) And the whites... (already sold these, but gives you an idea what the polishing looks like after an hour per wheel)...
  21. I have taken pics of the wheels fitted, and would like to add... no tricks, no spacers, no wobble bolts (these are 4x100 with a vw middle)... They are new, and they are a set of 4 with the correct vw offset as such.
