Surly a vr6/r32 lump is a similar hight ? i am going to do it for sure even if it takes me a few months to do it il try my best .. if the bonnet needs raised to clear ...that will be the easy part lol more to follow !

Well there is a change of plan ....... i bought a mk2 golf that had a fubard engine and kinda flung me off this topic for a wile as the abf went into that lol so i got the engine in the golf decided to go high comp some light head work and fit tbs at a later date.....so its in and mapped it on the megasquirt and its a animal lol 1st 2nd 3rd gear there is no traction !!!!! THIS IS ASKING FOR THE LUPO CONVERSION !!!! golf is going to be fully restored/painted so cant just have the engine sitting about now can we!! Tbs to go on Abf to be removed from updates will follow v soon ! tommy

if you want to keep the 1600 just low-comp/rebuild the engine you have turbo + ecu/ tune job done but even that your still looking at ££££

maybe thinking of corsa vxr 1.6 turbo ?

When people have fitted a 20vt ......... what shafts do you use ?

Lol its only a stg3 t3 turbo from a rs turbo i had .............thinking maybe il change it to a gt28 Engine all stripted down today ...just awaiting a date from the machine shop for check block... crank re ground...new shels..new rings..new oil pump and arp rod bolts and stud kit and to assy short block........ looking at a pair of tsr cams too ....just need to wait and see what the machine shop bill is first! more pics to follow tommy

dofo mate had quite a bit of mapping exp but all on fords etc but there all the same once you get it to fire lol its going to be a ABF turbo mate .....just secured a engine,sub frame lots of different shafts mounts engine bay loom for connectors etc going to aim for a nice 250+whp lol shoul dbe fun in a lupo just got a set of 15" brock b2s to fire on it atm lol SO ITS GAME ON FOR DEF NOW TO THE BUILD THREAD .............

your very correct john standalone is standalone lol i have been using megasquirt for the past 5 years all fully mapted by myself running spark and fuel..booost controll ....... mega jolt is simmiler but nothing of the same the old ms came with 8x8 maps 12x12 but now ms2 that i am using has 16x16 tables afr target tables boost/traction controll /water injection/progressive nos controll and much more ..... the only problem is most mappers stick to what they know best if you play about with it alot you would just find its very simmiler to the rest at a fraction of the price (just like buying a g star t shirt and a asda t shirt they both do the same thing FOR POLISHING ) Its true what you say some poeple just have loads of money and can pay someone to do it ............ that takes the fun right out of building a car we have built loads of show cars in the past and this wont be any exeption thanks for the input guys and the warm welcome tommy
