  1. Ive just purchased some Weitec GT (height adjustable only), as they are apperently almost identical to the KW V1 basic model. Will let you know how it is.

Think I will grease the struts when I put the on to keep them clean. i guess any grease is ok as long as its fairly solid?

  2. Just took my 'new' X reg to Beadles in Sevenoaks to the bodyshop there, and he got the camera and depth guage out straight away, and informed me he will send off the details today, and should hear within a week or so, he cant see any reason why it wont be done. One reading on the roof was about 136. He said factory paint is between 75 and 150 microns, so looks to be orginal paint. I have three bubbling spts on the gutters with one having split open with some exposed rust.

  3. you could be at too high a speed to change down, I know most modern gearboxes have introduced a little bit of resistance to stop gearboxes getting trashed so quick

when you are finding it hard to engage gear, put it back into neutral then try the same gear again and it should be a little easier, that's the resistance =]

otherwise a gearbox oil change could help

Hi, thanks for your quick reply.

I dont think its too high a speed as ive tried it at all gears and different speeds (normally when slowing down to traffic lights etc), and going back to neutral does not really help :(

Gearbox oil change is next on the cards unless there are any other suggestions. :)

  4. Hi all,

Ive had a search but cannot find anything this specific...

Got a 'new' Lupo. General gear changes dont feel super smooth but I understand the gearboxes in these are rubbish, its got 103k on the clock, not record of any gearbox work.

Basically the issue is on about 30% of downshifts, any gear, only on changing down, not up, its really stiff to engage the gear. It goes in, but you almost have to force it.

The earbox oil was topped up on a service recently, but ive read on here lots of times that it should be changed, and not topped up, but would this only affect down shifts or could it be another issue?

Pedal box seems ok, the clutch is a fair bit higher than the brake, and it rarely crunches in when changing to reverse.

    Its a 1.4 16V AUA engine.

    Mant thanks.

  5. looking for a Lupo currently, might have a look at this, can you tell me if its a fair price (with hopefully a bit knocked off)

it has a FSH, some of them non VW. And the cambelt was apprently changed 10-15k ago.

Apart from usual car things I will also be checking:

    Pedal box

    Gearbox

    Rust on roof gutters

    any dents

scratches - down to metal or not?

    exhaust condition

    rear brake light

    dropped door hinges

    idle speed when cold/hot

I understand high milage such as this isnt really an issue if its been looked after?

Anything else I should particularly look out for?

I wil also be plugging VAG-COM in, anything to look out for when using it, as ive never used VAG-COM on a Lupo before.

    Many thanks.

    Dan :)

  6. Not properly starting looking yet, just browsing. waiting to sell her car first, as its going to be under her insurance etc.

Just debating how high milage i should go for. I was pretty impressed with the jabbasport 1.0 lupo with 190,000 on the clock when I had it earlier this year.

  7. Hi all,

Recently joined this forum, I normally frequenct seatcupra.net! I currently drive a 400+hp Seat Leon Mk2 TFSI, but looking for something a bit more economical to share with the mrs' - ie; a 1.0 Lupo/Arosa.

from initial looking im quite suprised how expensive they are, seem to hold there value well. Budget will probably be around £1500 - so a low spec 1.0 wil be in order.

My love with the lupo started when I had the Jabbasport courtesey car for a month, absolutely loved it due to the coilovers fitted, so thats first on the list. Some AP's perhaps. :)
