Hey all, I've got a set of bathursts that I want doing up and I've been quoted 30 quid a wheel for a full shot blast and powder coating. I think thats abit of a bargain but I have to admit I've never seen anything powder coated, will it be a good finish?? The company is reputable, so I know a good job will be done of them whatever, but I'm more interested in knowing if a good powder coating will give a good final finish to the wheels.

What does it need say so that it would possibly run problem free?
I think if he knew that right now mate he'd have the money in one hand and the bloke who could do it by the scruff of his neck in the other!!

Nothing at all, ok, sounds obvious I know but you checked for continuity down the line, make sure theres no resistance or owt?

Do the diesels run off a rotary pump or are they common rail?

What resistance has it got through it? Is it not getting the full 12v from its usual source then? Seeing as your having to bypass and go direct to battery? What voltage are you getting just cranking it normally?

Have you thought about going elsewhere with it to see if anyone else can make it abit more reliable?? I honestly think even with a fresh retro project on the go you'll still find yourself wanting it back, I want it now and I've only seen it in the flesh once!!!!

Is it cranking ok scotty, even attempting to try and fire up? I dunno about the relay, I wouldn't have thought it'd use one, as its not like it has to trip on and off is it, it starts on the key and stops with the key using a proper solenoid, right? Not too sure on vw dervs.

Cool! I hope it looks sexy on the move! I've seen it for sale for quite a while and had a look around it myself just for curiousity and I honestly can't understand why it hadn't gone sooner! Its a minter for the age and a real nice colour.

Can you be abit more specific?? Does it click just once? If it clicks multiple times is it in a regular beat? Does it click faster when your braking from a greater speed?? Can you only feel it through the pedals?

I think I'd be more concerned with finding a way and the cost of fitting dual controls first.

Yes although it's true it had been posted, it was on a totally different thread which I wasn't aware of! And I highlighted the fact that the corresponding times of the posts on this thread show that I was correct in saying that at the time of my original post nothing on this thread had been mentioned regarding why the o/p didn't want to slip another 1.4 in.
