  1. I found the attached `web-page` which suggested the spark plug and air filter change. Since everything else seemed quite sensible, I thought I should try it. http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~ppzson/Lupo/ Will it make a differemce? I don't know - the proof will be in the wrecking (or not). Watch this space. As for chipping, I think I may try that, but I thought I would do this first. I am not sure whether the cam on the 1.4S are any different from the 1.4 - the commpression is the same in each engine. I am going to find out how much chipping costs and I'll keep you all posted. I am sure it would have been better just to buy a more powerful car in the first place!!!!

  3. I am about to fit some super4 spark plugs. I've bought them, but I do not know whether they are the right size. Bosch say that a Lupo is not on its list for this spark plug. Has anyone got any hints to give me (apart from keeping the old ones and denying all knowledge when I make the warranty claim) before I do the terrible deed and wreck the engine? Also, I notice that the 1.4 seems to have the same engine as the 1.4S, but the 1.4S has 100HP as opposed to 75HP. If iot is the same engine, how hard can it be to put the 1.4S bits (whatever they are) onto a 1.4 to uprate it to 100HP? Has anyone done this? Basically, the 1.4 is our second car and I am finding it really a bit too slow, but don't want anything much quicker until my daughter has been driving a bit longer. :thumbs: :baa: :baa:
