  1. ok a little list of some of my old ride EP3 type r Ibiza PD130 FR mk2 golf 1.6 auto (with chalkboard bonnet) Fiat Chinq Girl friends old arosa Girl friends new arosa The collective of the usual suspects
  2. Hi i got the lupo specific ones made by corba. they needed tweaking to get them to fit right and cobra labled them up wrong which had us head scratching for a while as to why the didnt line up. they cost 160 quid for the pair and took 2 weeks to arrive. mine are just sliding but they cobra can do the tilt one if you want rear access.
  3. new steering wheel arrived today. needless to say it was fitted straight away!
  4. its pretty good for me but im 6ft3. The seats sit lower on the new frames and there is more forward and backwards movement. If i was using it as a daily i def would not have harnesses (pain in the arse at junctions etc) and id be more inclined to have reclining ones for more comfort adjustment.
  5. ok this weekends updates Seats and harnesses in. (sholder straps will be moved to the cage whens its fitted)
  6. cool! thanks for that. im liking the clubman cage over the OMP as it has harness mounts unlike the omp cage.
  7. small updates, the Lenso's are now sold and the lupo's running some gloss black multispoke (not sure on make took them as px for the lensos) and in theory the seat frames arrive tomorrow!! Also got some 280mm brake calliper carriers in the post and a replacement steering wheel.
  8. You'll be surprised how heavy the carpet and underlay is If you don't mind me asking who made your cage and at what costs?
  9. suprising how much that lower dash and trims weigh lol. by the time the air bag etc have been taken out lots of weight saving goodness lol
  10. Today's work was to re-cable the heater box for where the controls no are in the dash. had to swap 2 cables round as the heat setting one was to short. Then after the dash was back in i seat to on the window seal that was badly leaking, followed by change the passenger door check strap as it was pretty much seized solid. Removed rear wiper assembly and tidied the dash wiring up. There's still a lot of wiring i want to pull out of the car as its now redundant but it will be a mission to split the looms down. Some pics of how the car stands now.
  11. had to relocate switches etc as there is no lower dash. the heater controls have moved up there to. im planing on swapping mirror with the girl friends arosa as hers are manual. also in the hunt for manual wind window regulators. more pics will be taken tomorrow as got plently to dobefore the first outing on the 2nd of march!
  12. spent a bit more time on the switches tonight. crappy phone pic but hey you get the idea. when the new heater control turns up will be trying to fit it below the switches.
  13. haha i will be but ran out of time/light after stripping the car. just attached them to stop them being caught/stood on in the foot well!
  14. i had a look at safety devices webb site and there is nothing ther for the lupo, also emailed them and never had a responce
  15. Do any of you guys know of a decent cage builder? i have seen you can get an omp cage but they dont have a harness bar. Im only after it for track day fun so FIA approval is not essential. Any contacts would be usefull, im in the Guildford aera.
  16. My spare room looks like a lupo threw up in it!
  17. o and if any of you guys need any interior parts drop me a message as i have most of the plastic trims, head liner and full set of seats and door card to get shot of
  18. build thread now started here http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/93957-vw-lupo-sport-track-project/#entry1090794
  19. Right guys and girls i thought i should start a build thread for my next project. Me and a friend have bought a lupo sport for use on track. I bought the car from a friends girl friend so he had done some of the work. The car came with coilovers, BMC induction kit, modified exhaust, Lenso BSX rims running 175/50/15 (stretched to fit), rolled wheel arches. Plans are to loose weight and sort the handling out. The 1st saturday was spent replacing the clutch as the old one was shot. This weekend was spent stripping just about everything possible from the inside, modifing the dash to loose as much weight from it as possible and relocating the important switches (car is staying road legalish). We are waiting on seat frames from cobra to mount the buckets we have and already have the 4 point harness ready waiting to go in. At some point we will look into a cage and possible pollycarbing all the windows (at the moment funds do not allow this). Also going to be loosing the Lenso rims and trying to find a nice cheap set of 15's as the lenso's are to good for track. Here are some pics (more to follow when it stops raining)
  20. im well known for buying and selling cars, there jut the ones i kept for any period of time! im also known for "tinkering". most of my friends have vag and all are modified in one way or another. Pans for the lupo are back to basics, loose weight and focus on handling. i know from my girl frineds arosa which i have been tinkering with for some time now with the right set up you car get the lupo/arosa chassis handling pretty well and ive seen various threads on here with people tracking them.
