  4. Unbelievable when I paid £9800 six months back, I think I would be looking for over £8000, can’t justify loosing that much money, would just keep the car than loose so much on it
  5. Hi I have only owned my GTI for 6 months but due to house move and job commitments I now need to get a bigger car, totally gutted, I think I will be going for a Bora 150bhp TDI, anyhow, was considering a trade in, but should get more for a private sale, details below. Silver GTI

I had the new springs and shocks on for 2 days, I had lots of problems getting the car in my drive, and even more trouble getting it in my garage, nearly took off the front bumper, I wasn’t very happy with the rider either, so I put all the original kit back on and had to book it into my good friends at verve to have all the geometry set, for the privilege £80.00.

  8. May get the Service and the MOT done at VW, but not the timing belt, only other VW place I know is in Motherwell, think its called Veedubs, used to take my Puntyo GT to AVA in glasgow may call them see what price they could do it for
  9. Right just off the Phone my local VW stealer ( VW Verve Glasgow) price as follows: 40k service £171.96 MOT £ 42.10 T/belt & Tensioner £352.50 Total £566.56 no way can I justify paying that for MOT/service/timing belt looks like I'll be going to a local garage Can anybody in and around Glasgow recommend any local reliable garages, who you can trust ?
  10. Brilliant, I'm moving house at the end of april, + have the mot on my punto cabriolet to do... going to skint that month. cheers for the info anyway m8
  11. This will be my 20k service. Mot due and timming belt, what is done on the 20k service, and how much should MOT, Serv and timing belt cost if all done at my local Verve VW
  12. so even though my GTI has only done 16k, it will be 4 years old in april, so I'll be getting it done with my MOT then, anyone have an idea how much VW will charge ?
  13. No I didn’t actually mean an exact year, I was trying to establish when the belt should be changed, My Punto was every 3 years or 60k, and which ever came first. not sure how VW schedule works as not had time to scan my service booklet, someone mentioned due at 60k, so I'm guessing its maybe every 5 years or 60k, which ever comes first, although 5 years seems excessive
  14. in the service schedule does it state how many years, for example my Punto GT was, as I recall 3 years on 60k, on Fiats recomendations
  15. Hi all, I was just thinking about this the other day, my GTI will be 4 years old in April 2006, and at this moment in time has only covered 16k, what’s the VW recommendation for changing the timing belt, as doesn’t always go by mileage as can also deteriorate through time. Cheers
  16. rear washer pipe had split on the passenger side, over the rear wheel arch, water has been running down wheel arch and into rear passenger side footwell, only found out yetaerday, will have to remove carpet to dry properly. just what I don't need

  19. just as description, can soembody advise, between what years MK5 was produced ?, just so next time I get the right glovebox. thanks by MK5 i mean VW Polo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
  20. all makes sense now. I was'nt aware the MK5 polo has the same dashboard with round dials, makes perfect sense why it does'nt fit as its from the MK6, cheers for all the help guys, back to to square one, I'll take evrything back and keep an eye out for the MK5 polo, now that I know what it looks like. watch this space. Thanks
  21. I'll keep a hold of it just now until you get a reply from mitch, although don't know if I can be arsed stripping my dash again. cheers
  22. I 'll keep a hold of everything just now, my mate owns scrappy so if needed I can take it back, I take it your mate who has the photos has actually changed his Lupo dash to the Polo Dash ?
  23. it was the exact same front as the lupo, big round headlights, with round dials, after complete bottom dash and centre consol removed, it would just not match up, spent quite a while, trying most of dash where glovebox fits would need to be cut away, cupholder would not fit due to size in centre, where centre consol meets, oddment try on drivers side would not line up properly with the light switch, which resulted in a gap, it just was;nt happening. so I have put everything back as it should, unless someone can provide clear instruction on how to install with photos of the finished article it will be glovebox less
  24. can someone tell me why I am unable to access the photos in the " How to fit a glovebox" section, I have just removed complete bottom section of my dash and just wanted to check what to remove before I start hacking my dash to bits, from the look of it, I don't think this Polo dash will fit the Lupo...
