Help required please, I've just had the r-click remote locking fitted to my car. I had it done by a well regarded auto electrician and he charged me £60 which I was more than happy with. Anyway, after he left I tried to start the car, no go, just turned the engine over. Rang him and he came back and spent an hour with a plug in diagnostic unit, still no go. He had to go to do another job but said he'd come back later, he than rang to say he couldn't make it which annoyed me quite a bit. Anyway I've had to make alternative arrangements to get to work as the car is now stranded. He came today as promised and rang me to say he couldn't sort it and didn't know what to do next! I explained that i wasn't the expert and that he was and that he needed to sort it for me, quickly. He's now planning to use his recovery truck to take it back to his workshop to sort it but I'm now getting slightly more annoyed as I've no sodding car for work. I can't fault the guy, he's honest and genuine but the fact is he's buggered my car and he doesn't seem to be able to sort it. I wouldn't mind but i got a specialist to do it to avoid me doing what he has now gone and done. Anyway, the symptoms, when you put the key in the ignition and turn it to start, the engine will turn over but wont start, more importantly, the battery and glow plug lights do not come on, these are the ones that are permanently lit if you turn the key all the way but don't start it. He's checked all the relays, checked the cut off switch, he's de-installed the r-click kit but its still a no go. Yes I've taken the chip out of the old key and put it into the r-click one, in fact i did this over a week ago and have been using it without issue, we've also tried the spare VW key but still no go. HELP!!!!
