  1. I've heard stories of tyre fitters breaking the filled areas off with their machines if you use regular body filler. Apparently it's fine to use but I wouldn't want to spend hours refurbing for that to then happen
  2. How about the Xenon lights? Standard on all or an optional extra?
  3. Oh I didn't realise some only had two seats in the back, any idea if it makes a difference to your insurance only being able to seat 2 in the back? Well at least I won't feel left out if I get no extras The satnav does look good but wasn't it ridiculously expensive? Is it possible just to install a screen in place of the headunit instead? Surely there's space?
  4. Awesome thanks! You can get a sunroof and a/c though? Seems odd to be able to have both... What's the sunroof like on them? I'm embarrassed to ask but is it considered better to not have one? I ask because it's 'cool' not to have one on my current car
  5. I'm sure this has been covered before, I did attempt a search but couldn't find anything I'm looking at buying a GTi but I'm not sure of what features were available with the model. I know some had a/c, sunroof, leather interior etc but which ones specifically did? Were these introduced in the newer models or optional extras from VW? I don't particularly want a sunroof, a/c would be nice and I'm not fussed about leather as it's something I could fit at a later date. I just wanted to know if I should be looking at just the later models or if the features mentioned are random and it's a case of any combination is a possibility? Thanks P.S. Feel free to just link me to another thread if it has been covered before!
  6. I love the Ferris Bueller one! I need that!
  7. I'm bored of the rattles and dull interior to be honest. I'd like one again at some point but I'd like a change from 106's Well you've put me right off an ST As for the clio, apart from the dull interior I love them but I'd really like the 197 but I can't afford to buy or insure one yet I had a quick go on confused.com and insurance on the Lupo isn't too bad, the 182 is ALOT more. The fact that the Lupo doesn't depreciate in value too fast is a massive pro for me, it's hardly going to get used as it's staying at home when I go to uni. So worst case scenario if I'm forced to sell it in a few years I shouldn't make a big loss I did have a quick look at the Mini Cooper S which I quite like but for the price the mileage was 80k odd and from what I've heard they're expensive to run and part's are a rip off - plus I think my mum would be constantly driving it, she loves them! I think I've made my decision!
  8. Thank's for that I need to get on the phone to the insurance company now. Thanks I'm looking at an 01 plate with 65k on the clock at the moment. It's the 5 speed (which slightly puts me off - not sure if it matters) but it's apparently mint and the guy wants 5000 for it. Not sure if it has a/c, something I need to find out. It's lowered on coilies too which is a bonus for me. How does that sound for the price to you? I'm in no rush to buy really, I've got a few months to find one, I'm just quite excited at the prospect of having one
  9. That is exactly the response I was after - I really appreciate it! Insurance is an issue for me too, 19 with 2 years no claims, a Clio is probably just out of my range. I know they're a few insurance groups above the Lupo. The interior is so bland in them I agree, and I'm slightly put off anything French after my rattly tin foil 106 A Lupo just seems to tick all the boxes, insurance group 11 is ok, it should hold it's value and not depreciate too much whilst I'm at uni and I get the build quality of VW... yet I'm still wondering if I'm being ripped off for an 02 plate with 70k on the clock
  10. I know nothing about Clio's, even the 172/182 confuses me In what way would you say you say the Clio is the better car? What has the lupo got which justifys the price? 5k for one with 70k on the clock seems steep but I do love them. I also ideally want a car that maintains it's value. I'm going to be leaving it at home when I'm at uni so the mileage won't go up but the Lupos do seem to hold their value well?
  11. Hi! I've just joined the forum. I currently drive a 106 but it's time to upgrade and I'm after some opinions on what to get. I'm utterly in love with Lupo GTi's but now I've got the cash to spend (5-6k) I'm wondering if I should commit to getting one or perhaps opt for a Clio 182, Fiesta ST or C2 VTS. Being a Lupo club I think I know what the answer will be but nevermind I prefer the Lupo out of all of them but for the money should I get a newer, lower mileage car out of the above?
