  1. When I was looking the other year for a 2nd hand gearbox -fifth had cooked itself when the selector oil seal had gone, cheaper to buy 2nd hand than rebuild -I found out that all gearboxes fitted in the SDI from 2001 until the end of production were FFV. With ETF being a factory replacement? But both the Arosa and the Lupo SDI were all uniformly AKU engined, so theoretically an earlier Arosa gearbox should fit fine. Also, about the oil seal, replace that before refitting the gearbox!

  3. It is totally repairable. Parts needed Rear bumper £95.00 Rear boot lid 54.99 bumper hanger 17.50 bumper central hanger 17.95 rear light 25.00 number plate light 12 boot airvent 12.95 This means I have to fit rear boot lid, rear bumper and parts while the bodyshop concentrate on the 10mm "cosmetic" not structural pull of the boot surround, wheel well is fine. They will then respray the boot area and blow over the boot id and bumper for around £600 so the cost is £835.95 plus all my uncharged work. If the insurance were half decent they would pay up. The Joke is HALF of the energy (pollution) created in 1 cars life is in manufacture, all they want is to crush it into a ball for a bumper area dent. When you next see a breakers yard delivery look at all the cars that are perfectly useable, this is all the fault of the insurance companies and governments turning a blind eye to it as the countries profits are based on car sales and the building of new homes. Shame on them
