  2. I am afraid that I took 8 years to restore mine, I am rather attached to it and no room for another. I think you will know why, regards

  3. Just a quick one guys and girls. Anyone wanting to know what 60mm springs vs standard springs drop looks like on a Lupo with 13 inch wheels here you go. I’ve got a build project over in members cars area if anyone wants more info or pics. Hope this helps.

  7. I did mine on the fly press. It worked beautifully and it took longer to get the rotten knuckle off. £12 bearing at euros.

  9. I found the car just north of Nantes and drove back to Nice, but it was a weekend of storms over France and I had to stop overnight in the end. Snow, rain, wind and hail in the North, sunshine and blue skies towards the South... I sent the steering ESP sensor off to Germany for refurbishment and that's come back this week, I had the paint machine polished then I did a ceramic coating at home, had a couple of small windscreen chips fixed on insurance for 15 Euros and replaced the dodgy (already replaced) Lucas starter motor with a Bosch unit from Autodoc. Today, I had the A/C diagnosed - the condenser is leaking and needs replacement but with the price quoted, I think I may get the parts and fit them myself - new condenser and dryer/filter. About 800 Euro for a specialist to do the work! 190 in labour, 320 for the condenser, 100 for the dryer. Autodoc to the rescue here I think...! Can the condenser come out without removing the front bumper I wonder, anyone?? A busy weekend ahead methinks at some point, before the heat of summer comes on, that's for sure...

  10. Clever. And by leaving the two slots to the side (next to the one you made), if you ever find the real 3 legged caps they'll pop back in no problem. Great solution!

  13. I fully intend on keeping it - owning a raven blue is a dream 20 odd years in the making and was part of the reason I sold my black one in 2022. The aim is to restore to standard (although I do like the steering wheel and gearknob Jamie has installed) which will be a long process, it also needs a full respray in addition to the rust sorting. It didn't skip a beat on the ~300 mile journey home so I'm reasonably confident it doesn't need anything major mechanically, in fact the gearbox is a hell of a lot smoother than the one on my 68 plate Up! GTI!
