Hello guys, i have a big problem. Yesterday my friend filled my fuel tank with 20 litres of water, without knowing he accidently mixed the canisters.. So i started the engine, drove about 20 metres and my lupo just went off. Tried to start up the engine a few times, but it didn't start. Does anybody know how to remove all the water from the fuel system? I hope i didn't damage the BOSH fuel pump. Thanks for your answers :)

Auto : 2001 Volkswagen Lupo 1.7 SDI

Forgot to mention - my fuel tank had about 5 litres of diesel in it, so it mixed with the water.

diesels should have a big fuel filter to catch the water but I don't think any car would have a 20 litre fuel filter. If your lucky the water will just be blocking the filter, find the filter see if its a serviceable one or replacement, drain your fuel tank and put it back together. I hear fuel pumps and injectors on diesels cost a lot to replace
