Blown fuse ,Fuel injectors, PCV heater element

Recommended Posts

Hi all , just wanted to share my problem maybe it'll help some one in the process. My wifes 1.4 16v 75bhp (AUA) decided to die the other day, lost power and wouldn't restart . Scanned ecu 10 fault codes ranging from all injectors and other fuel stuff. Checked the fuses and number 3 was blown. Replaced fuse and it blew straight away. Pluzzed I removed air box and other plastic to exmine the loom. It looked good ? So replaced fuse turned the car over and smoke was pouring out of the PCV hose that connects to the airbox. Turns out theres a little inline heater in the PCV hose and it shares the same fuse as the injectors! anyway i discconected the plug from this heater element and car now runs perfectly (for now lol) . Cant see on vagcat any other vags that have this in the PCV hose , the heater is suppose to keep the oil as vapour in low temps as cold air from airbox might freeze in the pipe.

I'll think i take my chance on that and save a bit of cash. Hope this helps anyone else having a fuse and injector problem that might not be anything to do with the injectors. The offending part number of this imo a waste of time is 036906391A . Cheers Nath
