Joe1008 Posted June 5, 2012 Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 Evening all, I have a 1.4 s lupo on a v plate so 2000, It has what im assuming is its second gearbox, its done 95k, the box is spanking new, id say 3-4k max?, now, it seems that when i accelerate, or cruise at a steady high speed, there is a slight whining, i thought this may be because id read horror stories about them and the fact i have no interior ie sound deadening or carpet etc now i have these, it is still easily recognisable. im slightly worried due to getting the car off someone who didnt tell me half the stuff about it and it being saverely bodged in vital area's... IF my box were to give up, is there any gearbox that is stronger?, What boxes fit? as if im going to spend god knows on a new gearbox, id rather one i know isnt going to give up in 2k time...
