sarahjo
Hi, I'm new to this forum and wanted a little advice on what size wheel and tyre to put on my lupo gti. The car is on standard springs and I want to keep it that way at least for now, bodywork/wheel arches are also standard. I am currently running on 195/45/15 on 6.5 wheel. My question is can I use 195/50 tyres on 15 rims without rubbing? Also is it possible to use 16 rims with a 45 tyre and how wide could I go, without rubbing on the bodywork? Philplop
195/50/15's might rub, best off sticking to 45 profile. And with 16's I'd go for 195/40/16.Whether they rub or not depends on the offset as well as the width.
R99
I have 16" alloys on mine. The wheels are BBS RX211's in 7J. Offset is 42 as standard, but now ET 27 upfront due to running 15mm spacers.Tyres are 195/40 Toyo T1-R's and I get zero rubbing. Car is lowered on coilovers too. sarahjo
thanks for the replies, think I might try 16's with a 40 profile. :-)
