R99
Hi Guys. Right, I've had the GTI for approx 2 months now. It was serviced before I bought it from VW.The service book states:03/03/201033,826 milesOil service changeInspection service Fuel filter changeNext Services Due:03/2011 OR 43,000 milesOil change serviceInspection service The car has done 37,000 miles and it is only two months since its last service. Therfore the oil service light has come up 6,000 miles / 10 months prematurely.Does the car actually need an oil service, or is this likely to be a dealer cock up?Any help is appreciated. LupoEnvy
Its nothing to worry about - the system is set to come on at certain intervals - the system doesn't actually recognise whether the car has been serviced or not. Its just set to come on every so-many thousand miles. If you do a search for 'service display' there is a 'how to' get rid of it - its quite easy to get rid of it from the dash display. Defcon5
Yeah, I service mine every8-9k or so, so its out of sync with the indicator. Hold the mileage reset button, turn ignition on, hold till ------ appears.
