cam belt time?

Most manufacturers suggest 60k on the majority of engines. I tend to fit a new belt to any car I buy regardless if the previous owner says its just had it and then every 55k on the Lupo.

The belts are fine for alot more but the tensioners arent, they are made from weetabix and cheese composite so tend to fail long before the belt does.

Normally around 2 hours labour rate and about £65 for the belt and tensioner kit. They normally advise that you change the waterpump at the same time as it runs off the same belt. Waterpump around £30 so for the whole lot you will get a little change from £200 but, not much.
