Mommie's Lupo in Portugal :-)

Hi Guys,

I'm just a guy from Portugal that likes cars! Period!

Although I currently drive an Alfa 147, and I'm really a fan of Japanese engines - specially Honda - But, faith had it, that we end up having a Lupo 1.0 comfort, 100% stock bought brand new in 1999.

The car has character I give him that.... But it simple lacks "nerve", I'm afraid!

I mean, don't get me wrong, the guy is feisty, with it's 999cc and 55HP, and short gearbox.... But it's a drag to do anything at all either than city.

Because my mom had the need for a larger, more comfortable and "highway capable" car, she bought a 1.8 i-vtec 2008 golden Civic - a hell of a car!

But the Lupo is still here - pressing us to "waste" money on it! :-/

The car is 120.000kms (74.000miles), ALWAYS with full VW official service'ing - I know!!! :-( $$$$$$$ - including an expensive repair at around 40.000kms (24.000miles) because the cooling liquid showed traces of oil :-( You know what I mean - I just don't know the name in english of the parts that needed replacement...

Well...

Servicing time coming up again, and the car now, has a completely different place at home... Either we treasure it... or... :-/

So perhaps you could help me with a "shot term" - "long term" plan for the little guy!

Just for now, the most urgent thing it needs is new shocks!

I was thinking about the bilstein B 4 - But perhaps I'm a complete idiot! :-) LOL

It also crossed my mind to use the rims from the BMW E30 stock :-) It has a perfect fit! Do you know the ones? They are similar to the Lupo 3L

Please advice oh LUPO gurusssssss!

Cheers,

Cross
