WhiteMerve
Just looked under my rear arches and notices some paint bubbling on the left hand side, just wondered if any of you know and cheap and effective ways of stopping this getting any worse. pro3mark
Its rust, unless you take it back to bare metal and start again, it'll stay there, however, it will probably come back

cobblers
You will have to bite the bullet and pick it off, then use some rust converter gel, prime and paint the area. It only just comes round the lip, so you should be able to do a fairly invisible repair on it.I did similar to all my arches after they were rolled, and you can't tell. Mine weren't rusty, but the paint mostly fell off! Edited July 30, 2009 by cobblers
elajf1
What year is your lupo? There is a 12 year paint warranty on VW's so I would take it back to a dealer and push for it to be investigated. I know only certain areas of the car are covered but worth enquiring. I had bubbling paint on my roof gutters, It went in for a respray and I had a courtesy car for a couple of days. All sorted FOC.Adrian
