Greetings! Just bought a mk1 1.0 arosa (white) for half nothing, always liked these cars real project car look about them. Anyway i hope to start tearing it apart and whatnot. Ok so far iv.....

1. Repaired!

Wasnt starting, damaged distributer cap and rotor. Got a second hand one and new HT leads happy days!

2. Serious service

Filters, NGK plugs, octane blah.... oh and newish headunit and mental steam clean

3. Halogens!

Wedge bulbs (H22) Dims/Full (H4) Superbright!!! and 1 indicator bulb

Near FUTURE:

Proper shampoo, polish, wax (**** paintwork)

Colour code everything exterior (front and rear lower bumpers, handles, mirrors)

ALLOYS!!! have 8 spoke 13's standard seat ones.... yuck

Springs OR coilovers

Repair front bumper. Minor damage

Don't get me wrong, i don't know you

but people are opinionated on this forum and first impressions do last mate,

but welcome and good luck with your new purchase ;)

Thank you very much Daz_Kez and this forum is brilliant, far better than other ones i frequent, very helpful and nice people only had a topic in the Wanted section minutes and i recieved PM's

and good, personally i'd go coilovers mate, but it depends on money,

and have you thought about rims?

Alloys? Yes! There similar to the ones on the picture above except there not deep dish there in mint condition too and yeah coilovers are the way to go but its not my daily so i might pick up springs for the laugh

Any useful tips/info on mk1's??

i dunno coilovers for £200? i'd go for them everytime over springs

not like they are really breaking the bank for adjustable ride height

and i can't think of any useful tips off the top of my head but one of the seat heads will be here in the morning to help you out im sure :)

from the top of my head you will need to open the bonnet, theres two scews on the top each side of the light. (on top of the grille) undo these. the once you have uncliped each end of the grille surround where they meet the wings. last thing is to unclip the bulbs.

the whole surround will come away so you can then get to the screws at the top of the bumper. after this you will need to turn the wheels full lock to get to the 3-4 screws in the wings.

think thats about it.
