Ok I need help from someone in the know!

What kind of difference would I get from the 1600 GTi engine if I fitted a ported inlet manifold with a larger throttle body without modifying the engine management? The reason I ask is I`m enquiring about getting one from a group N polo rally car cheaply. may not get it as I`m just finding out if the guy still has it! Would there be any point in sticking this on? He also has/had a ported/polished inlet manifold as well for half the price and I`d just get that as it`s half the price if there was no great benefit from the larger throttle body! I`m planning to get fast road cams in the near future and i`ve already ported/polished the head!

i got one from a lupo cup car and its no bigger than my 16v one....

but!

i got pitstop development to knife edge dewedge and enlarge the body itself, it now gives mucho better throttle response
