Rookwise
Just wondering if the front wiper arms from a Lupo Gti would be a straight fit to the non gti's. Are the thread's/diameter's the same ?Would they need modifing ?Prices/part numbers (including blades) ?Any info would be helpful. I'm assuming that the arms are bolted onto the car. I know that the Gti arms follow a different line across the windscreen to the standard ones. Is there anything else I need to know before doing the conversion ? LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI
Both wiper arms fit straight on. Tigz has my old style Gti arms (aero blades but with different blade retention clip design) on his car as I got the new style arms when I bought new blades. Tigz™
The N/S blade catches slightly. We are talking a mm here, just sand off a bit of the tip of the blade and you wont have any problems. One of my favourate mods.
Rookwise
Cheers. Any idea how much the arms are to buy including the blades and all fixings ?Also. I dont suppose theres any pictures of how they fit ?Is the rear wiper on the Gti the same type as the standard Lupo's or is that also different ? Tigz™
They are not cheap.I had to buy a new arm and was forced to buy a new blade as well.I dont know if thats changed at all?Think they could have been around £50 a side?Rear wiper is the same.Polo rear wiper fits though. Rookwise
£50 a side style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />Bloody hell.Is that just for the arm or does it include the blade as well ? Tigz™
Yes arm and blade. It may have been £40 odd quid, I really cant remember.Worth it though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Rookwise
Cheers Andi. Think I'll look into it in a few days when me overtime is paid style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />Do the standard arms just unbolt and then you pull them off ? Tigz™
They pull off.Cant really explain how, cos I dont know.Even after the first side it still took five minutes to do the other side.Theres a bit of a trick to it, that unfortunatly I dont know it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Rookwise
If they just pull of that would mean there would be a cog type peg holding the arms on.Wriggling them side to side while pulling should remove them.
LINCOLNSHIRESLUPOGTI
The front wiper arms are held on the drive splines by a nut. To get to the nut you have to praise off the black plastic cover that is over the nut. The cover has a small slot in it to allow it to be praised off with a small flat blade screwdriver (dont slip and scratch paint here).Think the wipers are £43 for arm and blade (new style like I have got but nearly identical to original style just slightly different clips to hold the blade on the arm).Rear wiper is identiacal on all Lupo's as Tigz's said.
