Lupo 3L questions... RAB are you there?

I've imported a 2001 3L and I'm now driving it daily within the UK.

I'm fairly useful with spanners (ex Porsche Tech) and have Vag-com which I've already used to carry out the gear selection basic settings procedure etc.

I had an issue recently where I ended up replacing the speed sensor in the gearbox. While I was there and checking the measuring blocks, I noticed that the ECU is registering 147oC as an ambient temperature. The engine intake temp is ready sensible figures. None of the self study guides mention a sensor for this. Any ideas where it's getting the data from?

I'd like to fit power steering to it but not the electric setup (I don't want to re-invent the car). Is it possible to use the power steering bracket/pump from a 1.4TDi engine? The rest is easy.

Oh, last thing. I noticed that the coolant temp doesn't get very high (no more than 68oC today). As i can only see this in measuring blocks, I haven't been monitoring it regularly but will do. Is this normal? If this was a regular car, I'd say that the thermostat needed replacing.

I got a Lupo 3L yesterday as well, and I'm missing the power steering on it. Mine feels like a block of cement. I drove in the past cars without power steering and they were much better in terms of the strength you have to apply.

If this is possible, how much money someone has to spend and which options are available?!

Thanks :D (I hope RAB appears)
