  1. Morning all, Thanks for the add to these forums. I see many nice looking Lupos around, and a friendly community. I'm currently in the market for a GTi, and had a couple of questions to try and narrow down my search. > Are any of you considering selling? I've a budget of between 2.5/3.5k. Not looking for an ultra low mile rare, just a well-maintained, rust-free example. Please point me in the right direction, or PM. > Regarding the spec; can anyone advise me what the rarest upgrades were to these little cars? I would love to get one with a sunroof and/or the heated leather seats, but appreciate these ones do come with a premium. Also would quite like a Raven blue, but know these are quite uncommon... I'm coming from a BMW Z4M Coupe & Honda S2000, so am hoping to enjoy the fizzy motor in the GTi whilst appreciating the tasty MPG. It should be first time driver friendly too, I'd put my other half on the insurance so she can get some driving practice. Thanks everyone. 🤑 Tom
  2. VW Lupo 1.6 GTI 6 speed with full factory options. Originally registered to VW UK Head office.Flash Red with original Bathurst alloys sprayed black70831 MilesFull Service HistoryJust serviced 3/9/201611 Months MOTBlack Heated Leather seats (RARE)Electric Sunroof (EXTREMELY RARE)AirconOriginal VW Cassette with single cd2 original working VW button keys with spare bladeOriginal VW black leather binder with complete manuals and service book.I have owned the car for 4 yrs, adament i wanted to keep it as original as possible to ensure this stays a rare future classic. I have had to replace the alternator and the battery 2 yrs ago, I used to have a company car so the Lupo sat in the garage for a while unused which also helped save on mileage! It was originally a VW UK car (not a dealer demo) with me being the 3rd private owner. 7 VW main dealer Service stamps followed by 2 vw specialist service stamps and stamp for additional cam belt, water pump and auxiliary belt replaced 28/4/14 @57765 miles.I replaced all 4 tyres with Toyo T1R, 18 months ago which have only covered about 6000 miles.Due to growing children, I cannot keep her anymore and desperately hope she's goes to a home that looks after her as much as we have. These are becoming VERY RARE and classic especially with the factory options. BEWARE as I have noticed quite a few imports for sale lately, please note this car started life with VW UK head office hence the factory options and condition.Bad bits from someone with OCD!-There is a small stone chip just above n/s/r arch, a small scratch bottom corner n/s rear bumper and slight wear around boot handle. That is me being picky. The leather is in exceptional condition. Please bear in mind this is a 14yr old car that is in very good condition for its age with original bodywork including the alloy doors, wings and bonnet.£4995 OVNO Serious buyers, NO time wasters please.I have been as honest as possible with this advert, so get yourself a low mileage, fantastic condition future classic!I am based in Maidstone, Kent. 07904042022Thanks for looking.
  3. Sunroof hasn't worked since I've had the car. I switched the 25a fuse with another, and it wasn't that. So I pulled down the sunroof trim in the roof and after removing the sunroof control, it seems that the two wiring looms are different shapes/sizes. Does anybody have any idea whats gone on here, because I'm stumped?! The wiring block in the headlining: The connection on the back of the sunroof dial:
  4. Hello! Found this ad on autoscaut24.es . Black Lupo GTI with "open air" sunroof. This modification really existed or its just aftermarket modification? http://ww3.autoscout24.es/classified/271067150?asrc=st%7Cas
  5. Vw lupo grey headlining for sunroof model. Good condition, no marks or stains. Came out of my lupo with 36k miles. £20 posted
  6. Hi Can anyone tell me how hard it is to remove the glass sunroof? My other half's 2000 Sport doused her in water the other day from behind the headlining . It was the sunroof drain grommets in the A pillars, bunged solid. Had to take them off to wash them out (and to get the water to drian with a big gurgle). This means that to reattach them, I think I'll need to get at the top end to get enough free play. I need to do that anyway, as the sunroof is stiff, and doesn't close properly unless you help it, so I guess it needs cleaning and lubricating. Damned VW, it's only 13 years old... Does the headlining need to come out? I can't see fixings from above. Found this, which might be useful. I have the ELSAWin manuals somewhere, but not sure where, so any help appreciated. Chris
  7. Bought black 1.4 sport lupo 2 weeks ago nice car with a few problems, hopefully fixable, Electric sunroof fills the car with water i have adjusted the closing position but it didnt help too much. Plus the clutch pedal / take up strange a lot of spare play at the top ( adjustment rather than pedal box hopefully ) - looking forward to club meets !
  8. Hi guys, The other night my 1999 lupo 1.4 sport battery died so today I gave it a full charge, checked all electrics, lights etc however the sunroof seemed to be dead when I turned the dial to open it. Maybe this could be a blown fuse or something I'm not to sure and need a few pointers Cheers guys, Piers
  9. Hello all, New to the site and new to car ownership. Have a 1.4 petrol, 3 dr Lupo with the full length sunroof. Its a canopy style and retracts automatically from a control on the dashboard. Have found recently that after heavy rain, the guides for the rollers on the sunroof fill up with water, so that when you start the engine, it leaks through the roof onto your lap! Don't have a manual for this car (2001 model) and can't find any drains, scuppers, or rubber nozzles anywhere.... Can anyone suggest how to fix this problem, or where the drains might be hidden? Thanks!!
