  1. Hello all. I desperate need of your help. I am looking for replacement of steering wheel torque sensor for my Lupo 3l 2000year. All I could find that looks alike is the one for Punto 2.0 1999-2000 "yellow". Does any of You know if they are truly compatible? Can they be used as replacement?
  2. hey guys, I need some help regarding my VW Lupo 3L from 2004. Car's got around 380k km, 1 owner before but didn't care of it properly. Since I have it it drove nice but lately it started messing up on me really bad. I've done some extensive reading on this forum regarding some of the problems and fixes common to the 3L. Briefly, my problem is - if I drive for more than 10-15 minutes in the upper gears (normal drive on highway, 5th gear) when I stop the car fails to change to lower gears. Sometime it gets stuck in 5th or 4th. I stop the car everything goes back to normal. But it does this almost every time. Tried driving on automatic but does the same. To note - hydraulic pump runs almost all the time. Ordered an accumulator will change this Thursday. Under the pump there is some sludge, but quite old looking. So I'm assuming that once either overvflowed or leaked. I wanted to check the oil level but the green cap from the accumulator has written on it 'do not open'. so.. ok how do I check it then? But could my problem be because of the pressure accumulator or more than that? Since pump is running all the time I assume that at some point it can't keep up with the pressure loss from the accumulator so it just can't change gears anymore? Could there be a pump problem, or leak somewhere? No lights showing up in the dashboard. Previous problems fixed - hose from intercool to turbocharger changed (common Lupo problem), alternator with pulley and belt. My other question is - the MPG is quite poor, I get 6.4 l/100 in the dash, which is approx 45 mpg. That is quite poor I would assume from such a car. It drives well really, I can go 170 km/h no problem (although I normally don't). Any ideas to this poor fuel economy? My last question to Lupo owners - is it normal for a Lupo to not have assisted steering and central locking? mine does not have neither.. and it's a 2004 lupo what?! I had older Puntos which had both thanks for the help guys. Cheers Andrei
  3. Hello everyone, My girlfriend bought Lupo 3L 1.2 TDI. 2000 y. Problem is that steering in slow speed or parking is hard even for me. Does it has to be like this? If not, where can be problem? Also, seller told that in this model there is no power steering. Is it possible to put power steering from other lupo model to this? Thanks in advance
  4. Hey guys and girls. I went to check on my Lupo 3L that was parked in a car park in Clevedon, North Somerset only to find it was gone. I called the police, hoping it had been the result of some angry neighbour getting the council to tow it away, but no. It's not showing up on any databases, so it seems to have been stolen. I am hoping that a neighbour may have seen something, and I really hope that I can get it back in one piece. This is the second Lupo 3L that I have 'lost' in the last 2 years. It's the Planet Silver(/blue) in the photo. X100MPG Please could you keep you eyes out for it, or, I dread to say it, any 3L or 1.2TDI parts, as you know how rare these cars are in the UK. Thanks.
  5. Hello everyone, this is my new "headache" but still love the car. Arrived few days ago from Switzerland.
  6. Hi, Today I went to give my Lupo the first wash of the year. I chose the most complete washing program which includes cleaning under the car. The lights went green to start washing, I entered and turned the engine off. When the washing finished, I tried to start the engine, but it didn't. After some tens of crank revolutions the engine finally started, but I got the glow plug yellow light flashing (the one similar to a coil). When I arrive home I managed to connect the VAGCOM to the ECU, cleaned all the engine (0x01) errors and the flashing glow plug light turned off. Nice. Following this I tried to start the engine twice, and it fired with no problems. Nice. The worse was yet to come. Later I needed to go somewhere and turned the key on 2nd position. Waited the glow plug light to turn off, and it did, but I noticed something strange, I didn't hear the low pitched vibrating sound I was used to hear after turning the key to 2nd and before starting the engine. This was followed by hundreds of crank revolutions trying to start the engine, and it didn't, yet. I don't know where the sound I was used to hear came from. I don't know what is causing the engine not to fire. I am guessing it is related to the fuel feeding, but I can't relate it to the washing. Can you please share some ideas how to solve it? Thank you, Durao
