  1. Hello all, Im currently in the process of carrying out a service on the automatic gearbox on my Arosa and have a a few questions. 1. What is the ATF capacity? I have drained the pand and removed the oil pan and filter and just of 3L has come out but my workshop manual says there should be 5.7L. Is there more fluid it there i haven't been able to drain? Was it underfilled? How much should i put back in? I would just put the same amount in that i got out but the gearbox wasnt functioning properly so i want to make sure everything is perfect. 2. I have read on here that you also need to change the Final drive oil. How do you do this? Ive looked online and cant find any information and my workshop manual doesnt seem to mention it. Does this use a different type of oil? How much oil does it use? Any help would be very much appreciated

  4. Volkswagen Lupo 1.4 s ***AUTOMATIC**** Low miles at 40,500 backed up by full service history from audi specialists with the last being at 39,994k miles by Arnold Clark VW dealership on Crow Road Glasgow. Lovely small auto lupo for sale in immaculate condition. Probably one of the cleanest around. Very desirable auto gearbox which is smooth and no jerking or noises when driving. Interior is pretty much like new. Only thing different from original is the head unit has been updated with USB connection to phone. The paintwork is taffeta green is way above average as you can see with no dents, scrapes or scratches. Also paint work is original. Driving wise it doesn't make any knocks, noises or vibrations and drives straight. All manuals in the folder with service book. No silly offers please or time wasters. £2550 located central Scotland 07852149658
  5. Hi all, Recently I had to remove my gear knob from my VW Lupo 1.4 Automatic in order to remove the centre console. Whilst putting the car back together, however, my gear knob button is jammed about half way into the gear knob and out; when installing back onto my car the button is jammed in said position and thus not allowing me to change gears in the car. Has anyone else had this issue before and knows the solution/do I need to buy a new gear knob? I'm unable to find any information regarding the Lupo specifically online, but all of the tutorials online show the cars "swapping auto gear knobs" which is helpful: but, when they release the selector itself the rod allowing the car to change gear needs to be pressed down, whereas in the Lupo it needs to be pulled up in order to change gear. Many Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi all, I recently installed the "free floating screen"-style aftermarket "Halo 9" radio from Alpine (ilx-F903d) and I thought I should share some pics from the installation. I'm very happy with it! I wanted a Carplay and Android Auto enabled radio for the GTI but always felt that the 2-din screens were never bigger than my phone enough to justify the cost. The standard radio location is also way too low for the eyes. This radio has a great 9" touchscreen that actually sits way higher than the standard radios and so it makes it a joy to use, and much safer because of the size of text and buttons. As you can see the installation uses only a 1-din slot, which leaves the space underneath free for a storage cubby. Yes you lose quite a lot of the central vents air, but I think of it as having a Up! interior :D The hazard light switch is also fully covered by the screen but still reachable with your thumb. The height is of course adjustable for those who would still prefer more air and easier access to that switch. As drawbacks I'd point out to the not so stellar resolution of the display, although while driving it's not very noticeable. Also the screen can be quite reflective depending on the angle (it's also adjustable). But all in all I love it and I just installed another one on my second car (MX-5 NC).
  7. Selling my fantasia green Lupo, Alpie. Located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Great 1.4 Auto drives well with 6 months MOT no advisories. paint work is a little rough around the edges but no rust. remote central locking and alarm installed and fully working. Interior is in good condition. Electric windows. The switch for the passenger window on the drivers side only brings the window up but not down but switch works perfectly fine on the passengers side. wing mirrors don't adjust from inside. Car is a great little runaround and will be sad to see it go. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Mileage: 84576 Price: £850 Thanks. Jon
  8. Hi there, There is a VW Lupo with an automatic (electronic) transmission (like this on the site 22). The transmission was repaired, & there are 6 pieces of wires & there are 6 connectors on the gearbox. Here i uploaded a picture about this. The wires are: the nr. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9. My question is, how can i identify, what wire belongs to what connector on the gearbox? I find this info nowhere in the service manuals. The wire nr. 4 & 5 are blue & red. What colour is the upper & what is the lower? & how can i identify the wires nr. 6,7,8,9 & for what connector belongs these on the gearbox? Thanks for the help, best regards!
