Lupo 1.0 sluggish/ EPC rabbit hole.
Shanks255 posted a topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Hey guys, I’m hoping one of you can help me out because I’m honestly at my wits’ end here. I successfully completed the charity car rally I was planning on doing last summer—ended up doing about 10,000 miles in a month in my 1.0 Lupo with only the fuel pump giving out. Since I’ve been back, though, the car’s had a few issues. It all started on the journey home when the car would randomly lose all power. Restarting it would fix the issue, and it wasn’t happening often, so I just ignored it. Then more recently, the auxiliary belt snapped while I was out and about. I managed to limp the Lupo home and changed the belt. But that’s when the real issues began. It’s been noticeably down on power ever since, and it won’t rev above 4000 rpm. It just cuts all fuel, even if I’m flooring it downhill. So far, I’ve replaced the front lambda sensor (since I’d had a lambda code for the last year anyway), the exhaust manifold, the MAP sensor, and the oil pressure sensor. After doing the exhaust and the oil pressure sensor, the car does seem to run smoother with what feels like a little more power, but I’m still having the same main issues. The car is: Still down on power Won’t rev past 4000 rpm Occasionally throws an EPC light and loses all power The problem is, I haven’t been able to pull any error codes, and now that I actually have a code reader on me, I can’t get it to throw the EPC light again. I’m not sure what to try next. Maybe cleaning the intake manifold might help? It’s just hard to diagnose anything with no fault codes to go off of. Could it be a fueling issue? I genuinely don’t know anymore. Any help from someone wiser than me would be massively appreciated. Thanks a bunch, Shanks -
Hi I have a Lupo 1.0 AUC. I am wondering if there is any performance cam options for my engine. I know about the polo gt cam but they are impossible to find. Is there a company that manufactures cams that would definitely work in my engine? Cheers, Andrew

Hi, I own a 2005 Lupo with the 1.0 AUC engine with power steering. The auxiliary belt has a whine because I have taken the belt off and it has stopped so I’m wondering what it could be. I’ve already changed the tensioner, PAS pump, alternator and the belt so I’m wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and managed to fix it. thanks

Hi,I have a problem on Lupo 1.0 AUC 37kW with fuel mixture. VCDS showing error:17560/P1152 - Long Term Fuel Trim Additive Air; Bank 1; Range 2: System too Lean17573/P1165 - Long Term Fuel Trim Additive Air; Bank 1; Range 1: System too RichAfter clearing these errors they comes back in few days. In a month comes on engine light too. Last time I cleared errors I looked on oxygen sensors learning values: -6% on idle and +24% on partial load. The strange thing is that readiness is absolutely OK. Any suggestions? I'm little bit helpless at this moment. What have been done:- new oxygen senzor- cleared throttle body- replaced some bad looking hoses- cleared manifold preassure senzor- changed fuel filterPics from VCDS there: https://imgur.com/a/ZehuiX5

Cheers Mates. I'm from Romania. Here the Lupo's aren't that popular, but the owners are very proud of this little car. A friend of mine from the vw lupo club romania fitted cruise control on his TDI 1.4 AMF. I was wondering if I could do the same on my little 1.0 AUC. It's fly by wire, and has a clutch switch also. I basically want to know the login code for the vagcom. I guess it's different from TDI's, isn't it? Please give me some good news.
