  1. my VW garage quoted me 1200€ (over and above the 1000€ in repairs they already did which weren't the right ones...) so i'm thinking to get rid of my sweet little Lupo
  2. I've been having a big problem with my 2004 Lupo FSI for months now. I'll be driving along and suddenly the contact between the gas pedal and the engine stops (it's an automatic transmission), the yellow fog light lamp burns on the dashboard and an alarm bell sounds. so this means the car just stops. Sometimes after the initial panic, I'm able to simply turn the engine off and back on again...sometimes it just doesn't want to come back on. But, it always eventually does. It's been countless times by VW for "repairs" and it continues to happen. I'm out more than 1000€ and the mechanics are all stumped as to what the problem actually is and where the problem lies. They all say it's in the the electronics...but geez! when will this be solved? I can't sell it as it's sick....but really love it and wish i felt safe again behind the wheel...any ideas?
  3. i just have the feeling the engine doesn't rev enough...so difficult to explain....with my polo (also automatic), if you take your foot off the brake the car would still move a bit, not revving high, but ready to go...with the lupo, it seems to start from zero...slowly buildin up...slightly better with the ECO turned off....if you need to pass someone in a lower gear, it certainly takes it's time giving up! i was given the advice today from the VW garage to go speak to a vw salesperson to really get the goods on the fsi....i feel like i need a course or something!! this is certainly unlike any automatic i've ever owned!!
  4. hi..i just bought a 2004 lupo fsi (automatic) and have lots of questions about it. (sorry!)...with the ECO mode switched off, does the car still turn off when idling?...is it normal that the car feels sluggish when shifting up?? i'm used to driving a 1996 polo...should my lupo drive a lot different? (it feels like it does). i tried looking for answers in the vw booklet which came with the car...but helas, it's not specific to the FSI!(and it's just written in dutch)
  5. hi...i'm new here, and just bought a Lupo FSI (2004) yesterday!...i'm living in the netherlands and have been driving a '96 polo for the past 6yrs, traded it in for something newer and fresher. so far so good with the lupo...takes a bit getting used to, though...a bit sluggish shifting up (it's automatic)...but man, once it gets going there's no stopping her...what a strong and VERY fast engine!!...by the way her name's Prada, a steel grey with a sunroof and she's fabulous!!
