This is my 02 Lupo GTI, Its completely standard apart from no lupo badge on the back and red piping on the grill. I have had it for nearly 2 years and its just done 39k. Can't decide whether to sell it or swap for a red GTI, hard decision.......... Anyone got any advice on how much there fetching at minute? I'm unsure. Hope these pics work, having trouble working out how to get pics on here! Dan

Starting Problems
danielc-blackgti replied to James_d89's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
i know some people have had problems with the keys needing to be reprogrammed before. but probably the coil, mines just reaching an age where all that kind of stuff needs replacing and its mounting up! but the car still makes me smile as much as 1st day i got it so it seems to be worth the cost. -
Well had my alternator replaced today cost £90 for the part with exchange but took a while to fit, had to take off the wheel and the wheelarch liner and an engine mounting to fiddle about but its all done now! just waiting for the service now and the pre cat lambda sensor to arrive then its all done, but at least i can drive about! thanks for the help guys

oh rite i will have a look at then when i get home! i checked the ones inside the car but for some reason didn't think to check the bigger sized fuses under the bonnet! thanks for that. i will keep you all posted on the outcome, its being done on thursday by a mate if i cant sort it out myself tomorrow.

Hey Everyone, Been looking at those vagcom reader's on egay and noticed all the 'amazing' things they can do. There was one for £25 and then one for about £70, they seem like a good idea when they have rambled on for 5 minutes about what i can only imagine not to be the complete truth. Has anyone got one or heard of any of the things that happen when you use one, I just don't want to find I open up a can of worms so to speak if I plugged one in. Here is the cheap one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=015 and the so called 'super' vag http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=010 Thanks Guys

hi, had a really tough week this week with the gti, firstly the emissions light came on and someone read it and toldme fuel trim settings bank 1 are either too rich or lean. anyone ever had this? or what did it have to have done? and today the alternator light came on as i was going along a bypass didn't really know what was up with it as the belt feels nice and tight but now wont start as the charging system is not working properly for some reason. anyone had this problem before? and to top it all off some idiot has scuffed the bumper last night while in tesco's and drove off! i am now thinking im gonna be doing a lot of ovetime at work to be getting this done?!? as the service light came on last week and i think i will need cambelt doing also at 37k as its an 02 plate and its not in the service book yet. :-( any help would be appreciated, thanks dan

hi mate, is the passenger side window switch still working from the drivers side? i had the problem last year with drivers window not working, replaced the switch in the little box on the drivers door worked fine (£9) otherwise take the box out and check the connectors are all ok? the parts aint 2 expensive from vw surprisingly for this!
