  1. I dont see why you could not get screen in the headrests - I do see a small issue with people in the back seat though!!!!! THe GTi has no glove box, some models do but cannot see much room to spare for real installs. I would suggest in the Lupo that you consider a Screen in the headlining as the car is small and you will get a better all around viewing area, the headlining is quite solid and youll hide cables quite easily.
  2. QUOTE(MattyB)Or maybe it was your fantastic haircut, that only a `top-down` TT can provide style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />Funny you mention that because I actually had my hair cut the other day - didn't want to look scruffy when delivering these lights style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  3. MattyB - Here you go, some more info for you:- REDLINE RUMBLE (Hot Hatch RWYB - open to public) In association with Redline magazine Sat 18 May Right I have spoken to Dan White from Redline and anyone is welcome to race that day at the pod, but if you want your car to be featured on the redline stand you will need to send the spec and picture to dan.white@futurenet.co.uk and you never know you may even get featured like our very own Dr Flip
  4. QUOTE(MattyB)I'm down in Birmingham, West Bromwich way....And did Chris drive down to you? L_Babe was a bit shy style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> She was you know, musta been my stunning good looks, or the shock of her passing her driving test............
  5. Matt - issue with your site - it was letting me post without being logged in!!!! THe Blaupunkt unit Matt now has is Gamma compatible only (i think) and uses an addaptor lead to work. HAlfords can give you exact details as I cannot accurately remember.
  6. QUOTE(Black Lupo)dya no what sorta exhaust system i cld get for my ickle 1ltre???Technically you should be able to have any exhaust you want. Companies like Power FLow, Stealth Systems will make you up absolutely anything that you want, Single, twin, twin single, twin twin, single centre. If you want centre exit no reason why you cannot get the rear valence / bumper from a sport with the single rear centre exit and have a custom exhaust made to fit. You decide what you want and go from there;)
  7. just go a bit easy, once you see the first clip it becomes quite obvious how it all comes apart. As for fuel economy, I think that my Lupo may have a problem as the fuel economy has not improved, so I may have a fueling problem ...... Oh maybe not my problem style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  8. THe K&N that MAtt got from me is the kit for Polo GTI. If he is feeling generous Matt might want to scan the instructions for you!! In the interim, to remove the engine cover you need to unclip the two silver strips across the top of the cover - quite fiddly but can be done with a flat bladed screw driver, there are several clips on top and bottom of each silver strip. Once removed there are two bolts on the front, once undone the front lifts off and the rear clips into place on each side so just pull it forward. Once moved you can see the whole airbox. approx 7 screws hold the top of the airbox on, remove top, remove filter and two screws (one inside the assembly one outside centre front) and a plug hold the bottom of the airbox on. Unclip fron airhose to side and you are away all ready for K&N 5.0 V8 manic sounds.........
  9. Not sure about extended quite, went into pub after work at 5ish for a quick drink, got slung out at 7ish following morning, and boy did I feel cr@p all day friday and most of today - must be because of the age thing......
  10. Oh well Ill add another one. Been in the pub for 14hrs on Thursday and just beginning to feel a little better.
  11. You need to watch some of the Sony Xplode systems..... My SLK has a sony head unit (forget which model at the moment), but the sony Xplode version is the same spec, painted up differently and costs £50 more, the dealer was telling me it is designed to look good in an install, but doesn't always provide a benefit over the standard units. But then we gat all the 12 month old cr@p in the UK anyway.......
  12. In the UK the deisel "SPORT" does not get the centre exit exhaust, and I notice that all deisel cars over here almost always have the exhaust pointing towards the ground, I am not sure if this is legislation, technical or just "fashion for diesels" I guess there is no reason why you could not have a twin exhaust in the centre pointing a little less towards the ground......
  13. No problem, if you need a hand with other stuff let me know I may know the quick way to do it. Get my new car in a few days - WANNA race?

    K&N MK2 - K&N

so what did you think to it then MR Moderator Matty Moddedcars (or is that MMMM for short!)? Done the stereo yet?
  15. No, there could even be a slight loss but would not like to say without a dyno - I'll have to take it off for a while as car is to go back into the garage and don't need them to see any mods......So perhaps I will try to get the car dynoed before I put it back on to get a before and after.
  16. No pics yet, sorry - done 800 miles in the last couple of days so time has been a bit short. I will say though that I may be removing it very very soon .... the sound is excellent, but on my measured trips to work, fuel economy is down by around 30%!!!!!!! and not sure if sound benefit makes up for the extra day to day expense.
  17. I was talking to some guys this afternoon and they reccon that H&R utilise Bilstein Dampers and springs, rebadged..... wonder if this is true???
  18. I'd have Head Unit: http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/focus.php3?p...?partno=CDXM610 Changer: http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/focus.php3?partno=MDX65 Just put this (well the upgrade version of this HU in the SLK), excellent kit.
  19. I'd love a turbo car, but didn't feel it would suite the LUpo, I thought a supercharger would give me the power from the start feel ...... if you get my drift. Looks way cool tho'
  20. Check this out for a piece of workmanship, this is from the very slow guys that did not do my exhaust, but for their benefit wanted to show the kind of work they do carry out, this is from the newly supercharged celica: http://www.`celica-club`.co.uk/ ...#96;....yleid=2

    Brake Upgrades

I belieev braided hoses are available for the Lupo - Remember reading it somewhere. I have "green Stuff" pads in mine which did help improve performance a little. Don't get drilled disks, get them with grooves. I have read somewhere that if you run small (250mm) drilled disks the heat build up can cause fractures to occur around the points where the holes are drilled. Obviously not quite the same issue on a 330mm disk

    Brake Upgrades

I have been advised that you can get a Brembo `4-pot` behind the standard wheel, you just need a suitable bracket fabricated to fix. Willwood calipers available, but not sure about quality, not convinced about a lot of US tuning stuff...... There is no reason why you should need to use a 5 stud pattern for the BB brake kit as surely the calipers will still bolt to the existing fixing, you would just need a performance disk made up (grooved not drilled). I was advised Seat typr R option probably easiest way to go and probably cheapest as all off the shelf products.
  23. Matt, don't forget 'Volkswagen `Main-Dealer`' is German for "You Know we're gunna screw you" so be careful.
  24. Remember before they look at it to have them full inspect your car for dents, scratches and the like so they know what condition the car was in before they break it :0
  25. I don't have that - perhaps yours is a special edition??? Seriously I'd try to get it loked at, do you still have warenty on the car?
