  1. I'm a trainee electrician (though I've already got a degree in electrical and electronic engineering) I'd get the house sorted because if you don't sods law will get you. In the mean time tdi prices may fall from the stratosphere down to more reasonable level due to the Fox getting fully released.
  2. Sorry to here that man but I'm sure it won't be long until someone tells her that its your fault. If she tells her insurance company thay will say it's your fault and will not let her take the wrap. If she keeps it outside of the insurance then really it will only be a matter of time until someone fills her in, sorry dude it was your fault, remember you should always be able to stop in the distance you can see infront of you - I didn't in my 205gti 1.6 years ago and paid the price.
  3. I've averaged 70mpg on a tank (ok 31 litres don't know where the other 3 are) and high eighties on a motorway run (like 89 but hard to say when you're using the 1/4 tank marks for reference) - but I set out on these runs to obtain max mpg - don't gnerally get that high as it's too brain numbing.
  4. No throttle body - no dump valve needed. TDis are crazy expensive at the moment as we're after another one, it's worth considering an arouser (arosa).
  5. Yeah its a brain numbing chore but thats saving money for you.
  6. We noticed that speed really affects the cars mpg - I know this is obvious but it was a lot more marked eg: doing 85 - 250 a tank 75 - about 350 60 - 450+
  7. Would have been more but I can't get the missus to drive carefully enough (revs to 3000 before changing, accelerates hard and won't do 60 on the motorway), that tank consisted of a 100 mile cross country run aswell. Now if I can get on a motoraway only run I say 500-550 should be on. I'm so into this economy driving that I've decided to not get a Ibiza cupra TDi and now considering another lupo tdi (plus some extra cash - if tdi values actually drop). Of course if I we did get another it would have to take a trip to mr Remap. I use to drive a lot quicker but the daily commuting traffic never gets above 60. Tim. oh yeah the tank was'nt totally empty.
  8. I like the grill - don't think you can get it in this country - though superchips do a chip for it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> http://showrooms.volkswagen.de/vwcms_publi...eset_outer.html I always thought that the 3l/100km car was the 1.4 - but it's the 1.2.
  9. From The trading standards website: PRIVATE SALES There are some situations where your legal rights will be reduced:- The rule is 'let the buyer beware' when you buy from a private individual. It is up to you to find out whether the car is of satisfactory quality, to make your own checks on what you are told and to take responsibility for your choice, as the seller is not liable for the satisfactory quality of the vehicle. You are still entitled to expect the car to be 'as described', so if the advertisement says '1992 Ford Fiesta', it should be exactly that. Remember, though, that it may be much more difficult for you to enforce your rights against a private individual. Whether you buy privately or from a trader, you are entitled to expect the vehicle to be capable of passing an MOT test when you buy it (unless you and the seller clearly agree it is to be sold as scrap). You can also expect the seller to have 'good title' to the vehicle. In other words, to be the owner or authorised by the owner to sell. If you buy a car later found to be stolen, you have no legal right to keep it. You will have to try to get your money back from the seller.
  10. Lynsey, Yeah you see that dip around 3700rpm(torque and bhp) - something's giving out at the higher revs. As we can see the revo example keeps growing towards the red line. Tim. PS. YHM
  11. QUOTE(Lynsey)My pics from today are here: (please excuse that some are fuzzy - had to `over-ride` the flash as we were indoors which equals no focus plus i was cold and shivering!! Click MeCan't be bothered direct linking them all but of course mine is the best Hmmmm.....feel the power of the revo Enjoy! Lynsey, I was thinking about the result of your dyno run with Revo on and from what I remember is that your bhp kept climbing and then fell off quickly - I was thinking that it maybe your wastegate not holding the boost pressure. If this was sorted then I reckon that you may get to the power quoted by revo. Can you post your result with revo on?
  12. wot no turbo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Welcome to the forum.
  13. Most the driving is short city stuff so I suppose it's not so bad going on what you guys say. Cheers, Tim.
  14. For you TDi owners what kind of range do you get out of a tank of diesel? We never go much into the red but anly get around 320miles with about `4-5liters` left in the tank. For a car that'sa supposed to have amazing mpg it's not really living up to it. Tim Lupo 1.4 TDi sport Rolling road day 13th Feb
  15. Is there any room left - I want to come along - it's not far for me? Tim (ellingtj) TDi sport
  16. QUOTE(Bikerz)i think the superchip would be better with the more torque, and seems to be lower down in the revs to! id go superchip. (and it sounds better when boastiing in the pub then REVO)loltrue but the torque tapers off quicker (therefore the bhp too) with the superchip. My bro who is into all things turbo said that having the bhp/torque dropping towards the red line will be easier on the engine then having it increasing all the way to it. Hmm I just don't know.
  17. OK I have just got a Lupo Tdi (Jazz blue with air con+cd - if you want to know) I was thinking about getting it revo'd but the golf mkV group are planning on doing a group buy on superchips. Now the power and torque distribution on the superchip is quite different to the Revo one http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/vw14tdi.pdf http://www.revotechnik.com/products/softwa...t.aspx?pvID=186 Has anyone heard anything about the superchips `re-map`?? It would be cheaper but I want the best `re-map` regardless of the price difference.
