I'm the good Samaritan trying to get my neighbour's 1.0 Lupo to start in this sort of weather. The problem is clearly damp on the ignition leads and I'd like to do the proper cure of: - removing the leads; - degreasing them and washing them thoroughly; - drying them in the oven (min temp!); - spraying them with sealer. But the caps do not want to come off the spark plugs and neither do the ignition leads want to come out of the distributor - I've been working on cars for years but never come across caps as firmly fixed as these. If they're going to come off, it will only by using mole grips on them. Does anyone know if they just need to be pulled really hard? I'd hate to discover there was a secret trick after I'd broken them..... The plug caps are `metal-shrouded`, if that identifies them. Andrew PS No suggestions about WD40, please - I'm trying to fix this problem, not make it worse!
