  1. Exactly what I was after, thankyou
  2. The thing with webers is they CAN be thirsty. On my mini I took them to DNG Engineering and Sam set them up, cock on. Fuelling wasn't bad, and with the 1293 a-series it got 88bhp at the wheels. If they are set up correctly, you should only really see a heavy increase in fuel use when your foots flat to the floor, but that said, I only noticed on 1/4 tank. The ITB's were good on fuel, but thats because I was using Megasquirt ECU and I made the fuel map myself.
  3. Mine was a 1.8VVC, and as I said I ran GSXR bike carbs, and megasquirt. Redrilled the hubs so I could still use 13" ultralites, to be a little more subtle. Went very well, with cams and a few other party pieces I saw 185bhp I know ITB's and Carbs are different, ran a DCOE40 on my mini, but I was thinking of ITB's due to the Lupo engine being more modern and as you said, it doesnt run a dizzy, so ECU is easier to map etc (especially with Megasquirt). Surely ITB's would be worth a shout??? or is it a waste of time and effort?

  5. £4/5K for ITB's?? I'm assuming your including custom ECU for that? I ran ITB's on my Metro when I put a K series in it instead of the A-series. For that I ran GSXR bike carbs, and a Megasquirt ECU. I'm assuming that it would be the same on the Lupo, but even that costs under £2k
  6. What about the basics though, like air filter? Do the likes of K&N do a direct replacement, or do I need to look on ebay to find something? Exhaust systems? Car back or manifold and all needed??
  7. Right, I did a quick search but couldn't find anything much, so am hoping a few people on here can help me out. I've just bought a 1.4S and although it goes well, it lacks a little power compared to my 200sx Just wondered what engine mods were best. Not conversions, modifications. I'm assuming decat, air filter, etc But as I am new to the vw/Lupo scene, I'm unsure on what brands are good, and where is best to get the parts from (specialists or eBay). Ideally I'm looking to get a little bit more poke out of the 1.4 and mainly focus on handling (arb's, coilys etc) before going to bigger power. So basically what I'm after is a list of modifications, and rough prices (of what to expect to pay), and the best places to find them. Cheers, Si
  8. Really? Looks olive green to me :/ And as for saying im pushing my luck, I appreciate that someone has taken the time to change the colour, but as i said in my first post, what I really wanted was a pale yellow centre, as in a pastel colour not metallic.
  9. Should do, PCD for the mini is 4x101 (If i remember correctly), VW is 4x100 so wobbly bolts will fit.
  10. Where?? I can see (in order), turquoise, red, purple, green orange, dark red, blue. I'm talking a pale pastel yellow, or a bright yellow. Examples of what yellows I'm interested in seeing; Cheers again
  11. Can you do one with pale yellow
  12. have a look on my thread couple of topics down titled "wheel shop" you get the general idea Oh and I wouldn't get them from Midland Wheels. A few people used them when I was into mini's and they had nothing but problems with them. Lacquer peeling after 3 months etc etc
  13. ^^^ Pale yellows, bright yellows, flurescent yellows, oranges, or anything else you think will look good, and above all, different
  14. I'm in the same boat mate. Got a 1.4S in Soft Blue, although at dusk it looks lilac. Mine has some Halfrauds hubcaps and steelies, but I'm looking at sticking mine on 13" minilites. Have a look in the photoshop section to see the result, looks nice, but needs a big drop on coilys. You got any plans for your Sport?
  15. nice, can you change the colour of the centres on the top pic you posted please mate?

Side indicator. How much posted? My near side one keeps falling out, my be the clip, but its annoying the hell out of me.
  17. its only worth what someone else would be willing to pay. But at the end of the day its your call. Add up how much the stereo cost, and how the price of coilovers (I hope its coilovers, otherwise the lowering cost would be £0). Probably only a few £100's. Also, if im brutally honest, remove the window tints, you will get a wider market then. window tints appear to 17 year old's but the majority of people over 20 who have window tints is pretty slim. You also need to take into the fact it is a 1.0. I picked up my 1.4S for under £800 and I have seen other 1.4 lupo's sell for just over £1k. Ebay seem to struggle to get £700 for a 1.0 lupo. Just my 2p's worth
  18. Mines flashing "Service OIL", tried to reset it as mentioned above but no such luck. Suggestions? And don't say "service it" it's been serviced
  19. Right, need you people to work your magic. Need my car lowered, and then put on some 13" minilites. As for colours, i'm still deciding, but i'm thinking about painting the centre's (leaving the rim/lip chrome/silver) a real pale yellow, or maybe orange but if you can think of something that may work, but still be different, then stick the result up here. Heres the pics, and cheers in advance; Car Wheels; (Yes that m,y metty turbo ) Cheers, pie
  20. Think the immobiliser activates as soon as its locked. Could be wrong though
  21. I've got a 1.4S and theres a small noise that sounds like something being sprayed whenever I release the clutch pedal. Verdict??? :/
  22. Hahaha Blaze of Glory I wish, had to lim it home. Thooooom - The metty was a good laugh, lasted me about 2 weeks before the pistons melted it looked awesome due to the wheels. Looking to put some wide, deep minilites on the lupo once its on the deck. And thanks for the comments on my username
  23. Well I've been on here for a long time, and thought it was about time i did a "propper hello". So here goes; HELLO Im Pieface/Pie/Simon, 23 from Worcester. New to the world of Drifting and RWD power. Have been what some would class a "fairy" and been stuck in the world of FWD for the past few years, although always had mad power (for the cars ive owned). Previously owned/built this; 1985 mini with 1293 engine and s/c box. Produced a lovely 88bhp (at wheels). then sold that and bought this beaut; MG Metro Turbo with 1330 turbo a-series. Took this to the 'ring and metled the pistons on the way. I then went and bought a bargain in the shape of a Nissan 200sx. Of course, it went to the nurburgring; Then, last weekend after sorting the brakes and a few other issues which cost a small fortune, as it failed the mot, the big ends went So that is now up for sale, and I made a nice little purchase in the shape of a 2001 Lupo 1.4S. It features a full length sunroof and is a fetching shade of lilac, although apparently it is supposedly blue?! I'll get some pics of it up soon, and hopefully I won't be asking too many silly questions, as I know of these fantastic features called "google" and "search" on the forums cheers all, Pieface
