For the love of god I haven't seen one Gti come up in the used car sales. I have the Cup car though.
Whats your User ID? I'll send you one the next time one comes up in my used car thingy... I seem to come across them all the time!
Nice time Al, especially in the Cup Car, you got a normal GTI to use? You will be able to get into the 7.40's.
That's a Normal Lupo GTI that one Matt. Just painted it a nice Sunflowery Yellow to make it stand out! It was going to be Sepang Bronze, but the 'Brake dust' coloured wheels wouldn't go with it
I think i'm at a disadvantage at the mo as my time was from a standing start in a lupo race! So i'll have to do a warm up lap and then a hot lap!
Pete, My 8:32 was in the Lupo Cup race also.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
get rid of the ****e illest sticker and it'll be reet.
-
Good choice!
-
Hmm. Nothing available off the shelf that'll do the job.
Maybe worth looking at doing something similar to what John (casper) did with his and getting a DIY Poly Urethane moulding kit and just filling the voids?
-
I think I need an uprated lower pendulum mount before trying to extract any more power. The engine already wants to escape as it is.
What type is it that's fitted on the TDI? The 'double doughnut' type or the 'Void bush' type?
-
on the 1.4 TDI's, it's £299 for a custom map done on the rollers! We normally recommend these for vehicles with a de-cat and some kind of improved air filter!
-
Be very careful putting a bigger intercooler on the Lupo TDI.
The Mk4 Ibiza Cupra intercooler would be a ridiculous idea as the turbo is hardly anywhere near strong enough to fill the overall volume of it.
In my personal and professional opinion, the best thing you could do is have an all aluminium version of the standard cooler made up, about a half inch thicker.
That way you're doing away with the cheap plastic end caps of the standard cooler, It'll fit directly in situe with all the standard pipe work and won't give such an increase in volume that it renders your turbo charger useless until 3,500rpm...
-
Completely standard apart from High RPM turbo kit and a couple of little bits.
currently @ 180bhp

AwesomeAl.... Always offers good advice, good prices on parts, always responds to PM's, and organised the RR day.
Thank you for the kind words James! - Also - Your H&R Front roll bar is on it's way to us and should be here before the weekend!
I agree with this!
Thanks Katie
if it was the other way Al would definatley have it!I don't need an 'award' Adrian! Compliments that show me I'm doing my job right are all I need!
but al does give brilliant customer service!!!
Cheers mate

Doesn't it cause hassle with the engine management light with a decat? As the second lambda probe goes after the cat? So not having a cat means it's not getting the readings it's expecting, so throws up a fault? Can this be written out with a remap? Can I ask any more questions in this post?
Either way, I'm glad I've gone for a sports cat as I couldn't be arsed swapping it about when it comes to MOT time.
The parameters of the rear lambda sensor should be able to be expanded to well outside of the expected limits whilst doing a remap so that a de-cat pipe can be used. The rear lambda sensor does nothing other than evaluate the efficiency of the cat anyway. It doesn't affect the way the car drives.
Ask away. All your doing is asking what i was going to
I think i will end up with a sports cat on it. The only reason i dont want the Ashley system is that its designed for the 1.4 but i am very interested in the results as its still a consideration.
We recently had a club lupo rolling road day in which we had a chance to see what the ashley manifold was giving power wise. Despite being originally designed around the 1.4 100bhp Sport, We found the figures we got were pretty much what we expected!
The car itself had the Ashley Competition manifold, A pipewerx 200 cell cat and a BMC intake kit.
Quite happy with the results to be honest although it would have been nice to have a before and after graph.

Please take a look in the Awesome section. We recently held a club lupo rolling road day and all the results/graphs are displayed in there.

Cheers again to Al for a well organised day, just wish I had remembered to take my thermals!
And just to remind people, I (sadly) put the car up for sale about a couple of weeks ago, link to for sale advert. in case anyone is interested in making an offer on her.
No worries Sam! Honestly if I had the cash, I'd buy your car! It'd make a great little project!
sorry i couldnt make it looked great
You suck lol.
Did anyone stick around for the Polo Gti run?
The Polo did 205bhp and 260lb/ft, The Ibiza that ran after it did 215bhp and 290lb/ft.
