  3. I'll still be around.. But won't really be posting much. Takes a man to stay with VW after all I've been through. Touch wood now! lolz.
  4. Lolz, cheers mate. Atleast it's a V-Dub. It's a shame really.. BUT.. it's one hell of a step up in the real world! New car is a beauty to drive. So soft and smooth.
  5. Ello fellow Dubbers. The time has now come for me to depart.. I've been having problems with my Lupo since I purchased it, but now it's not worth any more money. Have sold it on for £500. More details here on my new ride... http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/254351/1660194.aspx#1660194 All comments and ideas welcome. Will still pop back now and then in the future.
  6. Lives somewhere around coopers road i presume...
  7. Nice ride... Was it anyone off the forum? Subtly modified.
  8. Lolz.. Lucky for some.. I've had the pressure checked but its fine. Mind you, I'm using a Vauxhall Pressure Switch at the moment. (Because the head had a bigger hole in it so the original switch didn't fit) So probably the wrong signal is being sent. I need the exact figures that the original Lupo Pressure Switch works with. Anyone got any ideas?
  9. I've got the same problem. It's an oil pressure problem. The buzz sounds after about 5 seconds of turning the key to aux. The light then flashes and keeps flashing for the rest of the journey.
  10. I've recently had this occur twice... I'm driving along as usual in say fifth gear, and the car has come slightly out of gear, where that scraping noise starts happening... Then have to put the car back in gear again as you normally would while driving. Has happened twice now.. both whilst the car was in 5th gear. Any ideas what it could be? I'm thinking either the clutch or gearbox. Just need to know before something goes drastically wrong.
  11. Quick update: Really pleased today. National Windscreens bloke came and replaced the windows, and removed all the glass from the door. It's perfect, can't even hear the glass rattle. I cleaned out the whole car myself after the job too, so the car is near new inside. Fitted the stereo properly aswell this time, with the surround trim. Drivers door panel wasn't put on since i last replaced the window myself, so thats gone on too. However, got to take the car over to them tomorow to replace the glass. They managed to scratch the one fitted whilst in transit, so have been cool enough to replace it tomorow when I take it back in! The fiesta guy had an MP3 player on his seat, so obviously they weren't trying to nick anything. My stereo was still their, and so was his. Was pointless just breaking into both the cars though. Bloody low lifes! Still £70 down due to the excess, but I guess thats bound to happen in east london! Edit: The CCTV on site is smashed and hanging from its wire facing downwards! The wire has also been cut. That car park has always had glass all over it. Just keeping well away and am not going to drive in to work any more! :-( No place(s) to park.
  12. They didn't take anything. I always take the fascia for the stereo either way. But its pretty pointless. Just leaves me every single time with a hole in my pocket! What the hell was the point of smashing my window (and the car next to mine) for absolutely no reason? This is going to be the last time I'm going to drive to work now! No where else to park. Some people would actually be quite surprised by how much i had cleaned the drivers door when it happened. Not even a speck of glass!
  13. First the drivers side window was smashed through right outside my flat. Secondly, the passengers side been smashed today. Going through a rough patch. Been spending so much money ever since I've got the car. P.S. Passed the MOT 2 weeks ago... so quite chuffed! I managed to hoover out the glass from the drivers door, i can rub my finger along the inside and theirs absolutely no glass now. I'm just curious as to if National Windscreens actually pay attention to detail and clean out the door properly. Thanks for the rapid response. P.S. - I believe that door trim part is glued on? It may be possible to bend it back into place.. Will just have to see. They even managed to cut through the rubber while breaking the glass! C*nts!
  14. Maybe my car is cursed, but someone had smashed the passenger side window earlier on at work today! I'm gutted. Just curious, but does anyone know if National Windscreens actually hoover up the original broken glass pieces properly? I recently done the drivers side myself, but I'm going to resort to the glass cover. I'm hoping they will hoover it all up, including in the door frame etc... Also, the black metal which sits next to the window frame has been bent out. Some **** used a coat hanger on my car, and the fiesta that was parked next to it too! Was no point, nothing was missing! I'm absolutely P1553D!!!
  15. Spotted... M12 LRF @ Fletchers B'ham. Saw you today at fletchers mate. Just installed an FK mesh grille on my car too. Similar cars we got their.
  16. Update: Good news... I've fitted the glass that I went to collect today from Stevens VW Dismantlers. Just got to mention, they are absolutely brilliant! The window is now fitted, but I need those clips for the interior door bits from VW. Also need to get it tinted to match the passengers side. Theirs actually quite a bit of stuff I need. (I.E. Front door speaker baffles + speakers etc..) Quite happy with what I've achieved.
  17. Hmmm. Really wanted both the windows the same. Wouldn't want the rears tinted and the fronts not tinted at all. Currently sitting, the front windows are only ever so slightly tinted. Not sure about the legality of this, but the police had stopped me once, seen the tints, but it wasn't because of them.
  18. Hopefully can see the quality in this pic. Just picking up how to use ImageShack properly. Damn quality still isn't showing up. Haven't a clue as to why they've lost so much quality. Sorry folks. I've had a look for the monza alloys, but the centre seems quite a bit different. The alloys I have on look like those multifit ones? It was T-Cut black that I had used, since I was looking to go over the slight scratches in the paint work.
  19. It appears they tried to have a dig at it twice, with what mostly looks like a screwdriver. Would you recommend that I get the new window tinted prior to fitting, or get it tinted after its fitted. I didn't really take much notice of the original glass, but it appears that the tint was applied ALL the way to the bottom of the glass, which makes me think that they might have originally done it while it was out. Seems common sense to get it done while it's out, but not sure. Also, anyone know of any good tinting places in/around Essex? I don't know the tint level, so someone with experience would be great... (would be a bonus if they could fit the glass too)
  20. Right, don't think I've posted any photos of my car before, but here goes. Took these quite a while back after I finished T-cutting the car after a proper wash (car was an absolute mess when purchased). However, these pictures aren't recent. Recently the car has developed a long dent down the rear passenger side panel, and the wheels have been kerbed beyond repair (i think). Let us know what your thoughts and ideas are. P.S. - What alloys are these? They were on the car when bought. Thinking of getting them refurbed but not sure if their worth it. They do suit the car quite well though.
  21. EDIT: 56k beware! Hey folks... Thought I'd share my feelings about all the pikey chav scums out their. Woke up 25th August to find the drivers window smashed on my car. Found a note inside on the seat from the police with a reference number, saying to contact them. Funnily enough, I didn't hear the alarm go off in the night. Even so, they didn't take anything, even though the stereo was their. (I always remove the fascia any how.) So they smashed my window for absolutely nothing!!! Have attached photos. So upset. Having to spend so much on the car. Wanted to do other things, but every month something else is getting the funds to be put back right (again). Either way, have bought a drivers side window of the 'bay. Didn't want the hassle of £70 excess just for the glass, so have chosen the cheaper route. Also, I'm in need to get the window tinted again to match the passenger side. Problem is... I don't know what level the tint is on the passengers front side. At the same time, it appears that the door has been opened previously anyway. The speaker is useless (hence the poor sound quality), and the foam has been ripped off. Time to clean the car out underneath too.
  22. I steam cleaned mine quite a while back. It does the job perfectly, however, got to be real careful. The board can start warping, I.E. my headlining has warped just slightly, but the door cards survived. Looked like new too. (until they got dirty again) Note: Steam cleaned the seats in the process, absolutely spanking new.
  23. Cheers matey. Going to have to pop down to the stealers to pick up a few of these white clips. Must have broken a few on the front drivers door card whilst it had been removed in the past. Probably like a £1 each! lolz. Oh the joys of owning a V-dub!
  24. Recently managed to scrape the rear passenger side of my poor lupo against a skip. Has caused a dent with quite a bit of the paint scraped off. Just needed to gain access to the rear panel by removing the interior rear door card, however, haven't a clue on how to remove it. All ideas and comments would be much appreciated. Will try and take a photo of the damage. Been quoted £170 to get the dent pulled, plus the panel painted. Thought thats quite dear, so would be better if i could push the dent back out myself to somehow reduce the costs slightly. Do i simply yank on the rear door card? How is it held on? White clips (nightmare when they break) as used on the front upper cards?
