fair enough, im pretty well mechanically minded, so i dont mind a punt at the right price, the first sounded quite good over the phone, but living in north devon everything is a hell of a trek there are no lupo gtis for sale around here,

hey all i'm looking for a cheap gti that i can give a good home and some tlc, i have found a number of 01 lupos that have some damage history in my price range could anyone help me with some info on them hopefully you might know the owners or have looked at them yourselves, i have phoned the sellers and got all the info i can you just cant be too cautious. first up is a 01 gti in black with the reg y981 gaf. It was a cat d and he said that its all sorted and clean. i know the pics are not of the actual car but he did explain why. My link Next up is another autotrader gti its a 01 on the reg Y901 GTC it was a cat c but has been repaired, moted but not vic (yet) its got 23k, air con and sunroof other probs he mentioned id the air bag light is still on and the remote needs re-programing, My link There are others that i have seen but they are HPI clear hope you can help me, PEACE AND LOVE

Sounds like the syncromesh has gone, un-likley to be the gear linkage as it would normaly affet other gears. that wont be an easy job. the door sounds like a couple of less severe problems the interior door handle sounds like its loose just take off the door card and re fit the cable/bar working the lock i dont know which the lupo has but my golf had bars linking up to the door lock. i might be interested in your car as a project my email is gilesbenbow@googlemail.com send me some pics cheers

hi, I hope all goes well today with your new ride. I cant wait untill i get mine Might have to wait a while I am not sure on the size but i belive it is 4x100 but dont trust me as i dont have one. I have two stes of alloys in my garage they are only your average five spoke design but if you are interested i will send some pics ok? Im Giles and i am new to the whole Forum thing Im currently looking at buying a lupo gti i have always wanted a lupo since i was 15 when i did my workexperience at a vw showroom in '02. i have had many old dubs before: '90 Mk2 jetta tx '90 Mk2 golf driver '83 Mk2 golf c '89 Mk2 golf driver '91 Mk2 golf gti 8 valve runout edition in atlas grey my first road car was my black '89 mk2 driver my dad bought it for me for £200 completly standard i had to part with my lovley mk2 8 months ago as it cost too much to run £2500 in insurance alone but i long for a new wave dub and i feel the lupo is the one my mk2 had -80mm springs 276 degree cam imported via a freind from south africa, blue dash lights, stainless exhaust ect. any help in locating my perfect car would be greatley apreciated
