Oh thats nice and subtle! don't supposed you have any from the side How do you find the ride? have you just got springs, on the standard dampers

Have you got any pics? been looking at the koni set up - looks rather nice but also the do the Fk's and Weitec coilovers

I'm guessing the 60/40 and 30/30 are the spring lower heights I'm going to ring awesome GTI up over the weekend and see what they have to offer too. I would like it to be lowered just to remove the 4x4 look I know coilovers are the way to go but can be found bumpy.... especially in cumbria!

Before we move in to our new home looking to fix up billy - has a few creeks from the rear and I think instead of buying genuine parts I will uprate them, Now looking to lower the car but also not make it undriveable! as I use the car everyday, my fella had coilovers on his 172 cup few years ago and it was uncomfortable..... but I realize when lowering you are making the car a harder ride due to harder springs. My question is coilovers, Just springs with original new struts, or a different set up i.e koni dampers and springs?? Also price...... I know you get what you pay for so looking around the £300-£450 mark..... Sara

So you just pull it upwards?? the mirror cap?

There's no screws or anything to undo is there??? as I have been reading theres a little plug to remove and then leaver something back??? but I can't see a thing

Has anybody got a step guide how to do this???? i have had a look and it 'wobble's so far but to the point of braking! I don't want to brake anything that won't go back on again. My fella is going to carbon them up

The drivers window stopped working over a year ago - but when it started playing up, if you touched the widow switch to make it work the radio cut off (power) so the place which fitted the stereo had a look, they couldn't find anything. But then the drivers speaker stopped working and the widow. I took it back again and they checked over everything and said there is no main power getting to the door? They checked the motor to see if works, I don't know how but they said its working fine but no power is getting to it. I am just completely lost as where to look next or what to try??? As the last resort would be taking it to a garage to have a look - but it would would cost a fortune if they spend all day on it

I have checked all the wires - and that they are all wrapped up, I can't see them breaking (but have checked them)

Right more of an update on my window problem, the place who had a look at it last time disconnected the drivers speaker for some reason I can't remember (something along the lines of to stop the stereo having a fit???) because when you indicated or put the drivers window down it cut out??...... anyway my bf had a look today, tried both switches (passenger and drivers) and the both work, next he reconnected the speaker to see if cut out... nothing happened, I remember the garage who had a lok said there was no power getting to the motor? But where do I start looking???? there is no clicking noise telling me the motors working. Also found that you can lock the car, using the switch on the door. But it won't unlock?! and the little red light which tells you the cars lock doesn't light up anymore??? If anyone could please give me any ideas where to look nxt it would be a great help! don't fancy taking it to a garage yet as it cost ££££££'s to get fixed!

We swapped the switchs round and both of them worked for either side, so its not that. The people who fitted my stereo said they checked the motor and it was working but there was no power getting to it. Are there fuse's for each side window.....otherwise its going to be a slow progress finding the broken wire or connection!

My window hasn't been working now for nearly a year now have had it to the local garages who couldn't tell there ar$e from there elbow. The only place which had a better idea was the place I got my stereo fitted by. Seeing as the window stopped working a few months after they fitted the stereo. They said there is no power getting to the motor - where would be the best place to start looking?????? loose wire in the door? connection somewhere? Please help!! Sara

I guess more folk go for coilovers over just the springs?

My fella had FK's on his clio cup and they were hard! felt every bump on the road...saying that even his clio trophy feels solid on the road! that has just got uprated springs! Has anybody got pics of just lowering springs

Hi, I am wanting to lower the gti and undecided which is better to go for? coilovers or springs? I use the car everyday so don't ant to take the nice drive out of him. Also were is the best place/cheapest to buy - also good too Also air filter? good one?? Sara

Been to the stereo place to have them check over everything and they could find the fault?! .....they said there is no main power going to the motor. They checked over the switchs (which were fine) then checked the motor (again fine) Any ideas where nxt to start looking??

Haven't posted on here in a long time! My drivers window has been out of action for sometime now, my bf has had a quick look and also taken it too his mates who works for VW to have a cheeky look. He swapped round the switchs to see if was the switch....nothing. I got a car audio place to fit my stereo a while back and was all working fine until when you started playing with the window the stereo went off (or something like that..its been a while!!) I only have the passenger speaker working along with a drivers window thats useless! any ideas?!?
