Selling due to going back to standard, had it for around a year now and has been fantastic! everything works as it should with no faults. I am also throwing in the kenwood bluetooth kit and video ipod lead both work fully with the iphone. Yeah i guessed they drop the stated MM but really wanted to see if there is any difference (visually) to the std ride height..... as when the coilovers where fitted they looked the nuts!

Since having the massive problems I had last time in fitting coilovers I have decided to go round 2 for lowering the car...... what sort of drop do you get with just springs?? has anybody got pics of there car on the lowing springs

My fella is selling some things to sort out the garage - bought this just a few days before xmas been used twice! It comes with the grit guard in the bottom and the lid is lockable (so you can take water to shows!) Looking for £20 delivered

All fixed now! found out it was the wiring loom to the door/inside the door! it was (to put it politely) buggered..... so new one in and all fixed!

Think you misunderstood me, the cars been running fine until this started....... checked all the fuses - they are all ok

Right well its not the battery! just been to get a new car battery and a key fob battery put them both in few noise's happened went to lock the car.....nothing! the key doesn't work at all. The EPC, Exhaust Emissions and hand brake lights are on constantly even with the key out????

Just finished work came to the car - heard it was making a 'dinging' noise like if you leave your lights on and get out of the car. Blipped the key fob button and nothing happened.... did it again and it opened the car but all the lights were lit up on the instrumental panel. Drove back home no problems what so ever. Parked up and went inside nxt thing the alarm was going off. My BF went out to turn it off but the fob wouldn't work. After a few seconds the alarm stopped but all the lights were on the dash again? Tried the key fob again and the car locked and unlocked? went to start the car and it wouldn't start... just turn over nothing else.... Could t be the key fob battery causing the fault

Hmmm well that is truly a head battering!?!?!?! they are exactly the same size as the FK's??????? so what seems to be causing my car so much hassle. Foxy - the garage which is doing the tracking has only told me that when he has been getting the tracking right there are not many threads left on the 'tie rods' which screw onto the track rod. I really don't understand what's causing all these problems

Not that I know of, but when the guy unwound them to get the tracking correct but found there was only a couple of threads left which caused some concern

The measurements that I would like are like these. I would just like to see if the FK bottom bracket is the same size as others out there. This is the standard unit And this is the FK

I am sorry for the nagging that has been going on in this thread, we have got the car now running on standard suspension and tracked up fine - the guy who tracked it said the track rod ends are slightly short for some reason? only catching a few threads on the rack. But is drivable We are now looking into the lower brackets on other coilovers to see if there is a difference, so if people with GTI's and have coilovers could you please please measure the length of the bracket and the standard strut too see the difference.

lol - new genuine vw lower arms turned up yesterday - the guy is going to have a look to see if they are any different, most of you have already said they are all the same..... but hopefully something will show. My bf went to see the guy who is doing the tracking and from what I gather, he said nothing is lining up correctly. We asked just to get adjust it so basically I could drive the car! but he said I would do if I could but the front track is too close together (narrow) it need to be made wider. SO......... The motor factor where the lower arms came from sometime get things wrong (part numbers etc...) so hopefully they might be wrong! If not its going to be a source of elimination!

Unsure?? the guy said at the moment the track is too narrow? will find out more info tomorro

Right Right Right!!!!! I have just heard some more news on the lupo........ :angry: :angry: since dealing with the garage they got pissed off with my fella going in asking questions on what they changed ect, so we took it to another garage where my fella gets bits sprayed up on his car. He knows a guy who has really good wheel alignment equipment. Dropped the car off and he said everything is messed up, nothing is right! he said the track looks too short. I mentioned we changed the ball joints to make it even wider - but he said it still looks like it needs to go more! So it looks like were going to have to buy new VW lower arms! total spent so far nearly £1k!!! trying to find whats wrong! :angry2: :angry2:

Mr Fox - are you saying they are the same as what' on my car now? (the ones which are from EK's)

Yeah they elongated the 3 holes which bolt the ball joint onto the wishbone to 'try' and get the camber corrected. My fella hasn't been able to see if the ball joints are different than the ones on the car. Hopefully they will be!

Yay!! bf went today to pick the parts up, also got me another towing eye cover, will have a look tomorro if the ball joint are much different. As a few people have been saying about elongating the holes in the struts..... can I not get away with the camber if I don't modify them? or is it too excessive
