  1. Hi James - sorry I didn't get back to you - been a bit tied up with baby stuff!

Everything that's been said on here is correct. I did put the discs in the boxes marked correctly for each side. Yes they do need a wee bit of heat in them - and yes they hum - I take it you haven't had grooved discs before bud? They are way better than standard set up - was the main reason I got them - because the standard set up scared the living daylights out of me!!

  2. happy belated birthday! - been to the lakes for the weekend so didnt get on yesterday. hope it was a good 'un!

  6. well he just had a really crappy start. I thought I span up a bit too much at the start too.

when I had my type-r I took it to santapod a few times but could not get under 15.4 they ar equite difficult to launch.. when I saw him behind me I was thinking go go go go laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> hoping he wouldn't catch me at the line. the funny thing was I spoke to ian who took the pictures before and said make sure you get some pics of this I'm feeling lucky! good stuff biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I left for the rolling road after this.

by the end of the season I should really be hitting mid to low 15's in the lupo. then next year I'll be looking at engine upgrades, either supercharging or a replacement engine.

    nice one James shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

  7. Once again, thanks for all your kind messages. Money is understandably a bit tight at the moment - but I'm hoping to filter some cash into a special Bora 'fund'. Wheels will be the first thing......mmmm18" BBS RC's anyone? shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Having said that - need to shift the kyalamis first! sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

  8. some good guesses! Adam - have you bought VRS then mate? If so, nice one! I did consider one of those. New Jetta no - but close ish - haven't the spondoolies for that! PMSL at Cliffo, yeah mate a W12!!

I have bought a 2003..........VW.........Bora - not much in the name I know but that depends which model you buy! I've got the (deep breath!) Bora 1.9 TDi PD Sport 150 - mucho niceness! 18,000 miles, Reflex silver, 1 lady owner, all round leccy windows, tape and in dash 6 CD player, electronic climate control, 6 speed, auto diming rear view mirror, auto wipers, computer, 16" alloys, golf gti interior (seats), grandad armrest, and genuine naff wood trim - puke my guts out! The wood is the only slightly slippers / pipe thing about it, the acceleration most certainly isn't, the mid range is awesome!

    Trip to jabba methinks? shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

  9. Well guys the day has come when my days of Lupo ownership are numbered. Hayley and I had a little boy last week (Freddie!) and I have had to grow up a bit and buy something a little more child friendly. Having said that, Hayley thinks I've bought a sensible car! You'll have to guess what it is though! Pick it up next Tuesday - really excited, but also sad to see my 3rd (by default!) GTi go. Still be around on here mind, wouldn't miss the banter!

Have a butchers in the for sale section as I'm going to be listing some of the kit that I have taken off my little Loopy.

    Cheers lads and ladies, Alex biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  10. yeah probably right adam - i've posted a reply on the thread you pasted - to cut short i'm happy that a respected company were up front enough with me not to feck my arches up by trying!

  11. i'd argue that the arch liner does add some integral strength - it's a chunky affair with not a massive amount of give in it.

still - rather have my arches unrolled - if a respected company doesn't want to feck them up then that's fine by me - i'm glad they were at least up front with didn't do it and knacker my car.
