  1. I'm looking to see if anyone knows how to successfully remove a drinks holder (or coin tray) from an under mount.

I've unscrewed the 2x T20 screws and removed the unit. I'm looking to now remove the actual tray mechanism, like these:

I see the two clips on the top-left and right of the bracket holding them in place but wondering if there are any hidden ones below?

Anyone able to shed any light for me?

    Thanks

  2. Hello,

I am shopping around for a competitive quote on bit of body work on a VW Lupo GTI. The damage was present when I bought the vehicle a couple of years ago and have been meaning to get them sorted.
There are three main areas I would like repaired/resprayed, of which I have outlined and photographed below.
    Front bumper (off-side)
    - 4" scratch/scrape. Has been touched up at some point.

    Rear bumper (near-side)
    - Identical damage as front bumper.

    Near-side passenger door
    - Small 1" scratch
    - Rust bubbling on lower corner of door

Does anyone have any recommendations of good, reasonable folk that would be able to help?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks.

  3. Done it! Just had to be a bit rougher than I thought. The operation was a success!

Having just looked at the behind of the wheel you're diagram you've just uploaded is spot on.

Only thing I had to do was remove the 2 small clips from the old airbag on the new one.

Reconnected the battery and no airbag faults/warning light on the dash.

Thanks you for all your help!

  4. I purchased a new 3 spoke steering wheel airbag to replace the slightly scratched one currently sitting in my Lupo GTI.

I just wanted to check a few things with people who have gone through this procedure before.

These are the steps I have gathered that I need to go through:

1). Disconnect negative (-) battery cable

2). Remove airbag by releasing 2 clips from the back

    3). Disconnect any wiring

4). Do steps 3 - 1 in reverse with new airbag

Once I've reconnected the battery is there anything I need to do/check?

Other than loosing the trip counter, clock time and having to re-key the radio, is there anything else I should know about or that may reset or cause problems?

Will the airbag light be stuck on afterwards?

Any tips, advice or info will be appreciated!

  5. I am now the proud owner of a very sweet Lupo GTI :)

I want to be able to plug my iPod/iPhone into my audio system (the default GAMMA stereo is installed).

I know that VW sell a connection kit but with installation is isn't exactly a cheap solution. Are the kits hard to install yourself and do they work with the iPhone? Are there any other working methods of connecting an iPod/iPhone to the stereo (either via a Dock connector or audio-jack).

Ideally I would like the cable to accessible from the storage space immediately below the GAMMA head unit.

Thanks a lot - any help or advice will be most appreciated!
