Pick a drill head relatively the same size as your rivet or slightly smaller.. Drill straight on the centre of the rivet, and take it down to about level with where the metal beneath it is, should just pull off from the other side then. Really simple to do.

    Thanks!

The same width as the rivet or the same width as the rivet head?

  2. I'm going to replace the b pillar trim this weekend. Mine is riveted in. I haven't drilled a rivet out before so was wondering if people with experience could talk me through how it's done. I have replacement rivers and a gun ready to attach the new trim.

    Thanks!

  3. I have both o/s and n/s splash guards for a Lupo for sale. Removed from a 2005 GTI (I'm unsure whether they are GTI specific or not).

Both are in immaculate condition and have been jet washed subsequent to removal.

These are £45 each from VW. I'm looking for £60 the pair.

Collection from N7, London but a courier can be arranged at the buyers expense.

Give me a shout if you have any questions!

  4. I'm looking to space the rear wheels of my GTI out a wee bit to match the appearance of the default fronts.

Having done some reading it appears as though there is a 20mm difference between the front and rear track (10mm each side). Am I right in assuming that if I get 10mm spacers for the rear then the match I'm after will be achieved? Or would 15mm be better? Does anyone have any experience trying to achieve the same thing? I don't want any risk of arch rubbing.

The alloys I'm running are BBS RS814's. Size: 6.5J x15 / Offset: ET43 - exactly the same as Bathursts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  5. Wheels update!

The company that refurbished the alloys for me made a bit of a pigs ear of the outer rims and ended up having to buy me a complete new set!

    Here they are:

And today I got them fitted:
