  1. lambda sensor, door straps, leaking rear washer, dodgy stereo wiring, had to have a new exhaust, sticky window switch, and a lot more i cant remember!

everything fixed, most of it under warranty!

seems like my car always has something wrong with it!

but i absolutely love it :)

i should be selling it due to getting a house, but i cant bring myself to do it....

  2. unless you go to warranty direct,

as long as your car is under 10 years old they cover pretty much everything, even wear and tear!

its £250 a year for my gti, can either take it to a garage of your choice provided its not more than £40 an hour labour, or take it to vw!

they pay the garage direct so you dont need to wait weeks for a cheque!

when i bought my car i had a years warranty left with arnold clark and i have to say they were pretty good, the policy wasnt changed into my name like it said it should be, but they still paid nearly 1k back to me for work that i had already had done (forgetting that i had warranty - d'oh!!)

  3. thanks for your help, i rang back with the part number and apparently they have already ordered it, although i have to wait til monday before they can do it!

its got a slight green tint apparently!

    learn something new everyday! :)

  4. HAHA!!! fancy that!!! :D I was in tears when he said it had to go :( absolutely LOVED that car!! His excuse was it wasnt big enough for joss who was only a teeny wee bump...oh the memories!! i refused to go with him to hand it over

i will always remember him getting rid of his brand new MK5 Golf to buy it. Turned up with lexus lights and 16v badges as soon as he ripped those off and put the TH monos on i loved it!!

I would never have bought mine if i hadnt driven his first. going from a 1 litre auto mini to the gti was amazing!! i was petrified of it! haha

    i bet, ha ha!

the windscreen has a massive crack in it now thanks to a biker last night!

i keep thinking i want to sell it, then change my mind!

  5. where abouts in fife did you pick your gti up from?

I found my gti on autotrader after looking about for a month or so. I was waiting for a cheque to clear before i could buy one. it was an agonising 2 week wait before i had cash in hand :o all the way to runcorn. Was a good drive home though!! :D

Don't rush into buying the first one you see!! i seen a few heaps on P/heads and autotrader, dave was constantly reminding me to be sensible! :D

Glenrothes, i think thats how its spelt anyway!

i bought the first one i saw, had a few problems with it but they seem to be common faults!

    i still absolutely love it!!

I sort of assumed it was Dave's old one...

    :)

    it is!

  6. I was looking at lupo's for a few months on trader and piston heads.

Then a red one come up in Nov 2007 which I wanted straight away as all the others I saw were silver or black.

It was a done deal when my now ex saw the wheels,

We drove 320 miles to pick her up from Fife and I havent looked back!

that was a good weekend :)

  7. theres a teenage lad that lives round the corner from my ex who has massive ticks

last night we saw him walk past the house, shaking his head swingings his packet of m and m's, then he randomly stopped and pretended he was shooting something, kicking his leg out at the same time! he did this all the way up the road!

it was hilarios to watch, he got a few honks off the passing cars too!

theres also "bag lady" in oswestry, she walks round town all day with a massive coat, big head scalf and with black bin bags stuffed in one of them granny trolley things, im quite scared of her actually! <_<

  8. This happened to me before, its nothing to worry about normally, its usually caused by dust building up in the joint where the electrical slip ring is in the steering wheel. Its probably just caught a load of dust in the contact and burnt it.

    John

phew! seems to be one thing after another at the moment!

i havent tried it again since, fingers crossed she starts behaving!
