Hello!
I’m looking for people with experience working on these engines (AUD engine specifically) who know if the valve heads are within striking distance of the pistons may the timing belt snap. I can not find any specific info on whether these engines are interference engines or not.
Long story short for a little context, waterpump bearing sounds worrying and timing belt with waterpump will be replaced next wednesday. I have been out of luck trying to find alternatives for travel to work.
I fear that the waterpump may seize and knock the belt out of it’s seats. May the pump fail and the belt survive i would be able to pull over to prevent overheating though. Work is only about 7 miles away and no highways or such.
Will i be risking a set of ruined valves and engine or will be an overheating issue be my main concern?
Greetings,
